Social media has spoken out and we are not okay, or so Elmo has learned. Our first on-screen childhood friend sent out a Tweet the day before yesterday to check in on his friends.
Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?
— Elmo (@elmo) January 29, 2024
Within 24 hours his Tweet had over 130 million views and responses from followers including Buffalo Wild Wings, Chipotle, Shake Shack. Even celebrities from Dionne Warwick, to T-Pain, Chance the Rapper, Rachel Zegler, and Today’s Craig Melvin sent a reply.
Thanks for checking in, Elmo.

Mondays are hard. Hope you’re doing great. Be sure to check on Oscar. He always seems to be in a mood. https://t.co/faAhcmzcMY
One X user didn’t hold back one bit.
“Elmo I’m gonna be real I am at my f—ing limit”
The Sesame Street character was so shocked by the responses he received that it encouraged him to reply to everyone.
Wow! Elmo is glad he asked! Elmo learned that it is important to ask a friend how they are doing. Elmo will check in again soon, friends! Elmo loves you.❤️ #EmotionalWellBeing pic.twitter.com/jhn2LNKfHf

He is right though. The amount of replies from those who are not doing well reminds us that we should always check in on our friends and family. You never know what someone is going through. This thing called life can be hard and not one of us has all the answers, but it sure does feel good to know that you have someone you can confide in.
We love to know that he is always there for us when we need him. Thanks, Elmo!
