The weather is warming up, N Crowd!
It’s time to kick it with some friends while you have some sun on your skin and a cold drink in your hand. As an Iowa native, there is plenty of outdoor space to host a summer get together—minus the beach. But not to fear, we put together a girly summer party vibe that can turn your backyard or event space into the oasis of your dreams. With this neon 90’s inspired event design, we got your back, regardless of where your stay-cation may be taking place.
Keep reading to find your next Midwest party venue and some seasonal inspiration that will bring the heat to your next gathering!

Tropical, Fruity, Fun
Summer is the season for color—so why not make it neon? This party aesthetic hosts a vibrant array of pink, orange, and yellow that is a perfect compliment to the season of sun. We suggest including an element of shimmer to reflect that beautiful sunshine. This vision board includes part favors, outfits, and decor that embrace an island vibe and oceanic elements. My favorite idea is the glitter press-on flower tattoos! This activity is perfect for a party-goer of any age, and keeps the festivity going in and out of the gathering.

This vision also emphasizes a fully-filled event table. Whether the offering is a buffet of tropical drinks, treats, or gifts, we want to manifest abundance. The fuller the table, the more energy we are bringing to the party. After all, nobody has ever gotten excited about a barely decorated event (p.s. we love the sparkly plates). For example, these images explore the idea of multiple colorful drinks, glow sticks, fans, and fruity trays. The more the merrier N Crowd!

Midwest Event Venues
Here are some of the most eye-catching venues located here in the Midwest! We were sure to curate these spots to support a variety of aesthetics for whatever you celebration may be. These differing locations are located in Iowa and Illinois, and offer a variety of different aesthetics to meet your party-planning vision.
Wilson’s Cider House & Venue (Iowa City, IA)

Wilson’s Cider House is a branch off of their farm that is popular among many Iowans in the Fall! This hot spot for sweet treats and apple picking is also home to hidden rustic getaway. Cider House hosts many weddings and events while offering catering to guests. If your looking for a refreshing countryside view, and some good cider, this is the place for you. Check out our article for more seasonal fun at the Wilson’s family farm here!
Armour House (Lake Forest, IL)

This venue, which has been passed down through many different owners, is now home to the prestigious Lake Forest Academy. Armour House’s jaw dropping gardens and spacious indoor ballrooms is what makes this location a popular venue for mansion-themed weddings. This is the closest thing to a french chateau that the Midwest has to offer.
The Magnolia (Dubuque, IA)

This modern location is a transformed industrial building located in the historic Mill District of Dubuque. The Magnolia is a bright, white, and sunny loft that acts as a perfect blank canvas! Although many utilize the space for weddings, you could transform the great room into just about anything.
