What to Expect From Beyoncé’s Halftime Performance at the NFL Christmas Game

Beyonce Cowboy Carter Promo

Fans received an early Christmas gift last week as Netflix announced that Beyoncé will perform music from her hit country album, Cowboy Carter, live during halftime of the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game on Christmas Day.

In a video posted to the singer’s Instagram in collaboration with the NFL, she is shown standing atop a vintage car catching a football as the opening single from Cowboy Carter, “American Requiem,” plays. The game will take place in her hometown of Houston, Texas at NRG Stadium and her performance will be produced by Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment.

Cowboy Carter, which broke records upon its release, is nominated for 11 Grammys including Album of the Year and Record, Song and Country Song of the Year at the 67th Grammy Awards. This achievement makes Beyoncé the most nominated artist in Grammy history with a total of 99 nominations.

Although the setlist is not yet known, we can anticipate a high-energy performance that includes special guests featured on the album. This marks a historic return to the NFL stage, following her iconic halftime performance with Coldplay and Bruno Mars in 2016, which drew over 115.5 million viewers.

This year, Netflix is home to the NFL’s two Christmas Day games. The Kansas City Chiefs will face the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Baltimore-Houston game at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Netflix has recently begun its expansion into live sports with the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul which broke streaming records. Netflix has signed on to stream the NFL’s Christmas days games into 2026 in what may become a new holiday tradition.

Fans won’t need to purchase a separate pay-per-view package for the games or Beyonce’s halftime performance as it will be available to all Netflix subscribers worldwide.
