Rapper Waka Flocka Flame and comedian Desi Banks have teamed up for a new podcast, We Playin’ Spades. The show, which premiered on September 25th, 2023, features the two hosts playing the popular card game of spades with a different celebrity guest each week.
We Playin’ Spades is a fun and competitive show, but it’s also more than just a card game. The hosts and their guests engage in free-flowing conversations about a variety of topics, including music, comedy, pop culture, and more.
During our recent interview, Flocka said that the idea of them teaming up was for shock value.

“It’s two different types of energy that we felt like would be dope to bring to the table, ya know what I’m saying.. something different. Like I tell people, I’m the white Air Force, he’s the black one. Ya know that’s two different types of energies, we need both!.”

Waka Flocka Flame is a rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. Currently the CEO of his own record label (Brick Squad Monopoly). He became a early influencer of Trap music, inspiring many artists of today with his extensive mixtape catalog consisting of over 30 projects. He quickly rose to fame in 2010 with the release of his single “O Let’s Do It,” which featured Drake. Waka Flocka has since released four studio albums, all of which have charted on the Billboard 200 chart. He has also won a number of awards, including a BET Hip Hop Award for Best Club Banger in 2011.
Desi Banks is an actor, stand-up comedian, and entrepreneur. Banks is the CEO and founder of Desi Banks Productions. He is best known for his comedic social media video, which often focuses on his experiences growing up in the Eastside of Atlanta. Desi’s talent has caught the attention of legends in comedy, most notably Kevin Hart, who has publicly praised him as the “next great” talent. This led to Desi’s cameo in the Hartbeat produced Super Bowl 23′ commercial for DraftKings. Banks has also appeared in a number of movies, including “Little,” “Merry WishMas,” and “Love By Chance.”
Both Waka Flocka Flame and Desi Banks have been successful in their respective careers in the entertainment industry. Their backgrounds and experiences make them well-suited to host a podcast together.
