Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson might’ve struck up a romantic connection after they co-starred in The Naked Gun. Released on August 1, the 2025 remake is a modernized reboot of the 1988 The Naked Gun crime/slapstick comedy franchise, starring Leslie Nielsen (Frank Drebin) and Priscilla Presley (Jane Spencer). Since the reboot’s premiere, Neeson, who is 73, and Anderson, 58, have been a little too playful for “just friends” while promoting their movie. Is it the early stages of a blossoming relationship, or is it just another PR stunt to get people to watch the movie?
It wouldn’t be the first time Hollywood has seen a PR relationship. For example, in a report by Buzzfeed, Nick Lachey and Kim Kardashian went on a single date as a publicity stunt. Lachey later confirmed this in 2019 on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where he said, “There are certain ways to play this game and some people play it well,” in reference to their date. While he didn’t confirm it as a stunt, he hinted at Kardashian’s skills in working the public and paparazzi. It wouldn’t be that far off, given the Kardashian family’s status as a business empire. This is actually a stark contrast to how Anderson and Neeson have approached their relationship. There’s little evidence of paparazzi catching them on public dates or outings.
They don’t seem to be playing a game here, and their dating history might reflect that. In the past, Anderson had been married four times, most notably to Tommy Lee and Kid Rock. Neeson himself was married to Natasha Richardson until her passing in 2009.
At first glance, you may see them as an unlikely pair. Neeson comes from Ireland and is an Academy-nominated actor with an exorbitant number of movies under his belt. Anderson is widely known for her role on Baywatch, as a Playboy model, and for her not-so-happy marriage to Lee. But they may have more things in common than we understand. They both have two sons, and they both live very private lives. According to US Weekly, Neeson spends most of his time in Millbrook, a village in New York, and Anderson currently lives on Vancouver Island, where she was born and raised. They may share an understanding of what it’s like living in the limelight while avoiding the paparazzi and onlookers.

In an interview with VT, actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who starred with Anderson in The Last Showgirl, said, “With all due respect to pop culture, if love has found its way into that relationship, God bless them both.” However, she also gives a message to the public to leave them alone and let them enjoy each other. While the relationship rumors between Neeson and Anderson might be sudden, it’s hard not to find them cute!
After losing someone, it’s hard to find love again, yet it seems Neeson found that in Anderson, no matter if she’s just a friend or a true partner. Whether on or off screen, the two have shown a deep chemistry. During their appearance on The Today Show, they pretended to get caught in a make-out session by the cameras. Neeson would give his coat to Anderson while filming in the cold. In an interview with UK Heart Radio Station, Neeson recalled Anderson baking for him and leaving the treats in his trailer, saying, “Pamela’s an extraordinary baker and cook. She made me beautiful sourdough bread and muffins.” It seems that a friendship truly blossomed before the romance ever played into the picture.
If this is a publicity stunt, it would be disheartening to the fans who have supported the duo thus far. Both seem so deserving of love and compassion that it would almost seem cruel for this to be just another magazine heading. Ultimately, there is no shame in holding hope that these two will go far and continue to support each other. Hollywood is not an easy business, and having someone there beside you to embrace you is something powerful and beautiful.
