The Soul Train Awards is an annual music awards show that honors the best in African-American music, culture, and entertainment. The show was created by Don Cornelius, who also hosted the long-running music variety television show Soul Train. The first Soul Train Awards ceremony was held in 1971, and the show has been broadcast annually ever since.
Last night’s theme centered around ‘The Soulful House Party Of The Year’ and was hosted by the talented Keke Palmer.

Janelle Monáe was the big winner of the night, taking home five awards, including Album of the Year for her album “The Age of Pleasure.” T-Pain was also a big winner, winning two awards, including Best Male R&B/Soul Artist and the Soul Train Legend Award.
