The Soul Train Awards is an annual music awards show that honors the best in African-American music, culture, and entertainment. The show was created by Don Cornelius, who also hosted the long-running music variety television show Soul Train. The first Soul Train Awards ceremony was held in 1971, and the show has been broadcast annually ever since.
Last night’s theme centered around ‘The Soulful House Party Of The Year’ and was hosted by the talented Keke Palmer.
The 2023 Soul Train Awards were a night to remember. The show was filled with amazing performances and heartwarming moments. Janelle Monáe was the big winner of the night, taking home five awards, including Album of the Year for her album “The Age of Pleasure.” T-Pain was also a big winner, winning two awards, including Best Male R&B/Soul Artist and the Soul Train Legend Award.
The awards show is known for its glamorous red carpet, and the 2023 Soul Train Awards was no exception. Some of the biggest stars in music and entertainment attended the event, including BJ The Chicago Kid, Coco Jones, Danté Bowe, Jermaine Dupri, Maeta, Muni Long, SWV and more.
The performances were just as memorable as the fashion. Usher took to the stage to perform his hits, while Danté Bowe delivered a powerful rendition of his song “Wind Me Up.” T-Pain also got the crowd moving with his signature blend of hip hop and R&B.
