Grammy-winning musicians Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge have teamed up under the name “NXWORRIES” to release a new studio album. Why Lawd? was released on vinyl and CD on June 7 and will be available via streaming platforms on June 14. Along with this, NXWORRIES has teamed up with Gala Music to enhance the record through a variety of exclusive experiences.
The record features 19 tracks and a star-studded guest list, including the likes of Snoop Dogg, Earl Sweatshirt, Thundercat, Carlie Willson, and H.E.R. Why Lawd? is NXWORRIES’ second LP, following up 2016’s Yes Lawd. Despite the 8 years since the duo’s album, both Anderson and Knxwledge have kept busy and are no strangers to collaboration. Knxwledge has produced for Joey Badass, Kendrick Lamar, and Earl Sweatshirt. Anderson .Paak’s most notable collaborative effort, Silksonic, a duo with Bruno Mars, dominated 2021, with their single “Leave the Door Open” reaching #1 of the Billboard Hot 100 and winning 4 Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
Ahead of the record’s release, NXWORRIES showcased a snippet from what appears to be a music video for their song “FROMHERE” featuring Snoop Dogg. While Snoop Dogg isn’t in the snippet, the TikTok shows a sizable portion of this gentle soul crooner, along with Anderson and KNXWLDEGE in a high-class bar, stylishly shot and dressed to the nines.

NXWORRIES is partnering with artist-focused streaming service Gala Music to release an exclusive remix of the song “Daydreaming,” originally released in 2023. They also sent a fan to the NXWORRIES album listening party, which took place on June 7 in Los Angeles. In the past, Gala has worked with Waje, NBA Youngboy and Tha Dogg Pound.
Gala Music also offered “mystery boxes” which included “a chance to win VIP access to a NXWORRIES live experience, signed drumsticks from Anderson .Paak, signed vinyl, merch + $MUSIC token.” The boxes were available at the “X Records” Popup at Stone Throw Record’s HQ in Los Angeles from June 7 through 13.
