Set to be released on May 29, Latto’s album is a personal project exploring her journey into motherhood, self-assertion, growth, and her career as a female rap artist in the music industry.
Following the reveal of the album cover, Latto also released a track from the album, “Business & Personal.” The intro track addresses personal rumors, settles scores, and asserts herself unapologetically as a female artist.
Expecting her first child with rapper 21 Savage. The pair have been linked romantically in 2020 after their first collaboration, “Pull Up.” Often keeping their relationship private despite dating rumors and public speculation.

Following her post, in a music video for “Business & Personal,” the video revealed her baby bump as well as feature a montage of her pregnancy with views of a scrapbook documenting her pregnancy journey.

A new chapter in Latto’s life, Latto is taking things personal and business-wise. In “Business & Personal,” Latto addressed rumors regarding Drake writing for her, as well as criticism surrounding her career with fans claiming they miss her old style. Latto also mentions competition with other female rappers and people expecting her music career to fail. However, Latto demonstrates the strength, complexity, and resilience of balancing motherhood and her music. Despite the hate, rumors, her pregnancy, and expectations as a female artist.
While some might have thought Latto would have fallen off or taken a break from music while pregnant, “it’s only putting gas in the tank,” Latto mentioned in her intro track. Latto fuels her drive to get back in the studio and provide for her baby on the way.

Latto is feeling more motivated than ever. In an interview with Paper Magazine, Latto stated, “I prayed for inspiration. I remember I kept praying like, God, I need something, I need some new motivation, I’ve been doing this for so long, I need to be re-inspired. I need something to make me go hard. Little did I know that there was gonna be a baby on the way. God is always listening. It’s not gonna always be what you expect, but He’s listening.”
A reflection of confidence, growth, and resilience, Latto is making the best music of her life. Latto is challenging narratives not only within the music industry but in general regarding motherhood and female success. Latto is embracing her pregnancy and advancing her career with the release of her upcoming album, showing fans, mothers, and women that motherhood, a career, and success can all coexist with one another.
