OrangeTwist, a leading aesthetics treatment brand, has partnered up with marketing agency Moontide to put a witty spin on the importance of making self-care a priority in a busy world with their new brand campaign, “Make Time For You,” featuring the white-bearded figure of time himself, Father Time.
Now, Father Time is not just saying “Make Time For You” for the sake of saying it. There’s some data behind it. A 2023 MRI-Simmons study found that 62% of consumers believe they’re too busy to fit self-care into their schedules and 77% mentioned they feel pressured to maintain the image that they have life under control.
“You got a busy life…but you can’t be your best self if you aren’t your healthiest self,” Moontide’s Executive Creative Director Sheldon Melvin said.
To play out this advice, one of the campaign’s ads features Father Time with a long white beard and white hair walking into the OrangeTwist center, mesmerized by the clinic’s method of turning back the time “with age-defying treatments.” He ends up getting a hydra facial treatment himself and comes out of the clinic a whole new man, looking ten years younger with the color having come back into his beard and hair.
“He just made time for himself and look what that did for him,” Melvin said. “You should do the same.”
The benefits of self-care are not only backed by OrangeTwist, but also by science. According to ScienceDirect, one study showed that self-care “decreases stress, promotes coping, and improves mental health.”
That said, taking time for yourself doesn’t need to mean getting a facial at OrangeTwist. It can be something as simple as stepping out to take a 15-minute walk while listening to music or pulling out the yoga mat for a quick workout session. Self-care can be anything as long as it’s relaxing and you’re doing it for you.
The beauty of making time for yourself is that anyone can do it no matter their age or gender. So, give self-care a try. You just might like what comes out of it.
