Every time the holidays roll around, it’s our family tradition to have me take charge of the menu. Since I love cooking for my loved ones, I have no problem with this task. One year on Christmas morning I decided to pour up a warm and cozy spiked holiday concoction for the adults. The family seemed to loved my Spiked White Hot Chocolate. Now it’s become a family favorite and something I whip up every year.
The great thing about this drink is you can omit the alcohol and let the kiddies enjoy it too. They can even join the fun by sprinkling it with the different variations of toppings. I wanted to share this easy recipe with you to enjoy with you and your family this year.
Spiked White Hot Chocolate
This festive comforting drink will warm the families hearts and souls.
- 4 cups Almond Milk (Unsweetened )
- White Chocolate Chips (don't use too many or your hot cocoa will be too sweet)
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 dash Cinnamon
- 1 dash Nutmeg
- 1 bottle Rum Chata
- 1 bottle Whipped Cream
- 1 dash Red Sugar Sprinkles
- 1 bag Marshmallows
- 1 bottle Chocolate Syrup
Pour almond milk and vanilla extract in saucepan and put on stove over medium-high heat.
Bring to a boil. Almond milk can boil over so make sure you watch carefully.
Reduce heat on stove to low. Add white chocolate chips, nutmeg, and cinnamon
Cook until chips are melted completly.
Fill mugs half way with Rum Chata
Pour white hot chocolate to fill the remaining half of mug.
Add desired toppings: marshmallows, whipped cream, drizzle with chocolate syrup and sprinkle with red sugar.
