After a federal battle that lasted over a year, the sentence of Sean “Diddy” Combs was announced. The hip-hop mogul was arrested in September 2024 under racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution offenses. His case came with over two dozen lawsuits and multiple witnesses. After days of heavy deliberation, the jury found the mogul not guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking. They found him guilty of two counts of transportation for purposes of prostitution.

Before his sentencing was announced, Combs stood before the judge, his family, and the rest of the courtroom to say a few words. He asked for grace in the name of being a family man suffering from drug addiction. Combs also issued a personal apology to his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, and an anonymous witness under the pseudonym, “Jane.”

“I want to personally apologize to Cassie Ventura for any harm that I’ve caused her, emotionally or physically,” Combs said. “My actions were disgusting, shameful and sick. I was sick from the drugs. I needed help.”

Final Word From Cassie

Ventura, who was amongst the list of witnesses, penned a letter to the judge ahead of his sentencing.

“My worries that Sean Combs or his associates will come after me or my family is my reality… As much progress as I have made in recovering from his abuse, I remain very much afraid of what he is capable of and the malice he undoubtedly harbors towards me for having the bravery to tell the truth,” she wrote.

Since testifying against her former producer and boyfriend, Ventura has released a heartfelt survivor’s message. Her husband, Alex Fine, also issued a statement after Ventura’s final day in court, and the couple has attempted to move on from the matter since.

The children of the hip-hop producer stood before the courtroom to ask for grace on behalf of their father.

“He told me to treat women like a queen and I do. I see in his eyes, as his twin, that he has changed,” 27-year-old, Christian Combs expressed.

His daughter, D’lila Combs cried: “We watch our 2-year-old sister. She cannot grow up fatherless.” All six of Diddy’s adult children were in attendance at the hearing. As revealed by journalists in attendance, they spoke to the judge directly for a second-chance, insisting he is a changed man.

The Official Sentencing

Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to four years in prison, with a fine of $500,000 under violation of the Mann Act. After declaring the sentence, he makes room to say a few words to Ventura and the other witnesses who stood before the courtroom.

“To Ms. Ventura and the other brave survivors that came forward, I want to say first: We heard you,” he said. “I am proud of you for coming to the court to tell what really happened.”

Subramanian has been very firm in his stance and decisions regarding this case. After the jury found Combs guilty on counts of prostitution, his attorneys filed a motion to overturn his conviction. Soon after, Judge Subramanian denied the motion in defense of the testimony given by Ventura and “Jane.” According to TMZ, Subramanian says the producer should do his time at a facility in NYC that has an available program to address his substance abuse issues.
