Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo will return to reprise their roles of Tony and Ziva in the NCIS spin-off NCIS: Tony & Ziva, reuniting the two iconic characters after 10 years apart. Paramount + announced on July 15 that filming had begun in Budapest.

Weatherly took to his personal Instagram to share his excitement and a photo from filming.

A Long Awaited Reunion
For fans of Tony and Ziva’s relationship, this show is a huge win. The characters were always pining after one another in the original NCIS, but never got their happy ending.
Ziva’s character left the show in Season 11 and in Season 13 was “killed” offscreen. Tony remained at NCIS until the end of Season 13 when Ziva’s death was announced, moving to Paris to raise their daughter Tali. It wouldn’t be until Season 17 that Ziva would return to NCIS in a major plot twist. With 10 years since the pair have been on screen together, fans have been itching to see the duo reunited.

The New Cast Revealed
The cast of the show has been revealed, and it is star-studded. Child actor Isla Gie will play the role of Tali, Tony and Ziva’s daughter. Amita Suman (from Shadow and Bone) will play Claudette, the chief technology officer of Tony’s private security company. Maximilian Osinski (from Ted Lasso) will play Boris, a Russian ex[pat and computer hacker. Nassima Benchicou (from Emily in Paris) will play Martine, a former French intelligence agent. Julian Ovenden (from Bridgerton) will play Jonah, a former NSA computer programmer now Secretary General of Interpol. Terence Maynard (from Edge of Tomorrow) will play therapist Dr Lang. Lara Rossi (from I May Destroy You) will play Sophie, Tali’s caretaker. And James D’Arcy (from Oppenheimer) will play Henry, an Interpol official.
A New Adventure for Tony & Ziva
Ten episodes have been ordered for NCIS: Tony & Ziva and will follow Ziva, Tony, and Tali as they go on the run after Tony’s private security company gets hacked. The family will travel all across Europe, trying to figure out who is targeting them.

The big question on everyone’s mind is: will characters from the original NCIS make an appearance in this spin off? It is unknown at this time, but actor Brian Dietzen, who plays Medical Examiner Dr. Jimmy Palmer in NCIS, has said he would love to make a cameo.
