French footballer Kylian Mbappé has been outstanding during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He set a World Cup record for the most goals scored in the knockout rounds. However, his performance has upset some countries along the way.
Mbappé has hit back at a Paraguayan senator over racist remarks she made in connection with Paraguay’s elimination in the World Cup by France.

Mbappe stated, “Through your recklessness and your brazen racism, the entire world has already forgotten the journey and the historic effort that your players accomplished during this World Cup.”
Even the French Football Federation (FFF) had to step in, which escalated the problem, and they announced to file a criminal complaint, describing her remarks as completely offensive and unacceptable.
The FFF went on to say, “ These remarks bring shame upon those who make them and those who disseminate them. The players of the French national team represent France; it is our country that is being insulted.”
France and Paraguay played an aggressive, hard-fought Round of 16 match. Although either team could have won, Paraguay’s physical and dirty defense frustrated the French attack. Sneaky fouls and tackles repeated from Paraguay’s win against Germany in the round of 32 unfortunately came up short against France.
