For a while now, everything was looking picture-perfect for the recently engaged lovebirds, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. It seems like just yesterday they were promoting their new collab album together, I Said I Love You First, and gushing to interviewers about their engagement and future wedding plans.
What Went Wrong?
Smooth sailing doesn’t last forever sometimes, and there have been breaking rumors that Blanco has cheated on Gomez. Who’s the alleged culprit? Gomez’s very own best friend, Theresea Marie. For any Blanco and Gomez rooters, we may need to hold your hand while we take you through these rumors.
So what started it all? Just about a week ago, Gomez posted on Instagram promoting one of the songs off the album, “Talk”, with a brand new music video starring Blanco. She tagged Blanco in the post and included a heart emoji, alluding to no bad blood between the two.
However, Gomez has started limiting her comments on her Instagram posts. Her newest posts don’t exceed more than 40 comments, which is unusual for such a big celeb, especially since her older posts can be seen with thousands of comments still. According to Gomez, she only wants her closest friends to be able to comment on her photos. This means fans can’t ask or comment about the breakup rumors.
Best Friend or Backstabber?
Speaking of Instagram, the initial spark that ignited all these cheating allegations was Gomez unfollowing Marie on the app for no reason. There have been different theories as to why Gomez would randomly do this, with the biggest one claiming it was because Blanco has subscribed to Marie’s OnlyFans account and is viewing her content. Oh boy…
With Marie’s most recent Instagram post from a week ago, fans are already leaving comments asking if she’s home-wrecking or asking for clarification on the OnlyFans rumors.
A few other allegations are worrying fans even more, with released pictures of Blanco being seen having a dinner date with Marie alone, with Gomez nowhere in sight. This alleged dinner date happened just days before Gomez unfollowed Marie on Instagram. To make matters worse for the two, supposedly Marie and Blanco hang out at Blanco’s house alone all the time, without Gomez present.

The new speculation has shifted Blanco in a completely different light for some people who have been following behind them, and it’s raising some red flags when people rewatch some of the things Blanco has revealed about Gomez in different interviews. Some fans are frustrated that although Blanco paints himself as a gentleman who worships the ground Gomez walks on, some of the things he says in interviews could be misconstrued as him trying to embarrass her.
Despite all of the gossip piling up this week, Gomez may have indirectly shut down the allegations with her recent speech at her mental health summit for Rare Beauty. During her speech, she mentioned the importance of feeling complete within herself and said if she wasn’t then, “I wouldn’t be in a healthy relationship.”
It’s also noteworthy that throughout this week, both Blanco and Gomez are still posting and promoting new YouTube videos of them together performing different songs like “Scared of Loving You”. The pair have been posting the new videos on their Instagram stories, with heart emojis like they usually do. Whether the cheating scandal is real or not, they both have amazing poker faces and aren’t bothering to address anything directly as of yet.
