Top Fashion Trends from the 2024 MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet: Jarren Duran, on left, wears orange and pink suit over a white shirt. Elly De La Cruz, on right, wears a mauve suit over a white shirt, pairing it with a black cowboy hat

The best of the best baseball players gathered in Arlington, Texas, earlier this week for Major League Baseball’s All-Star week. The week culminated in the mid-summer classic All-Star baseball game, pitting the National League and the American League against each other. Before they put on their special uniforms, the players brought their families down a red carpet. While these athletes may dress up on game days, their fits are usually more casual. Yesterday, the stars brought it all.

The evening’s most prominent trends included light tan suits (to balance the triple-digit temperature in Texas), bright-colored suit jackets, and cowboy hats — perfect for Arlington. Some of the players even included fun personal touches both in their red-carpet looks and their uniforms on the field.

Here are the biggest fashion trends from the 2024 All-Star Game Red Carpet and the players that hit a homerun with their ‘fits.

Colorful Suits

Jarren Duran

Boston Red Sox Outfielder

The first-time All-Star stunned in a pink and orange Gentleman’s Playbook suit. The MVP of the All-Star game was the talk of the carpet. The inside of his jacket said “F*ck ’em. Still Alive” and featured an All-Star patch. Though Duran didn’t think he could pull the suit off, Pedro Martinez, former Red Sox pitcher and “fashion judge” for the MLB Network, named him best dressed.

Kirby Yates

Texas Rangers Pitcher

Yates wore a maroon and white flowered Gentleman’s Playbook jacket with matching maroon pants. His family wore varying shades of pink to complement his look.

Ketel Marte

Arizona Diamondbacks Second Baseman

Marte showed out for the carpet in an eye-catching blue double-breasted suit. He was joined by his wife, Elisa Guerrero, who wore a matching blue gown, and the rest of his family, who each opted for white ensembles.

Alec Bohm

Philadelphia Phillies Third Baseman

Bohm, first-time All-Star and starting third baseman for the NL, wore a light turquoise silk Gentleman’s Playbook suit with white floral patterns over a simple white t-shirt. The inside of his jacket included patches for all of the minor league teams he had played.

While discussing his look, red carpet hosts Greg Amsinger and Harold Reynolds commented that Bohm took a different approach to his style than his teammate Bryce Harper. “When you got hair like that, you can’t wear a cowboy hat,” one host said. “No, you gotta let it flow,” the other host responded.

Juan Soto

New York Yankees Outfielder

The Dominican AL starter wore a light blue suit on the red carpet. He told the hosts of the show that he chose the blue because it was “light,” “smooth,” and “fresh,” all necessary for the insane heat in Texas. The suit was custom made by designers in the Dominican Republic. His best style tip? “Just be fancy.”

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Toronto Blue Jays First Baseman

The stylish Canadian first baseman showed off the patterned interior of his purple suit by Milano Exchange. He paired the statement suit with a black Louis Vuitton belt and gold jewelry.

Bobby Witt Jr.

Kansas City Royals Shortstop

Witt wore a deep green pin-striped suit with Brunello Cucinelli sneakers, a Kith t-shirt, and Cartier sunglasses. His fiancée, Maggie Black, wore a simple black dress with a green purse.

Anthony Santander

Baltimore Orioles Right Fielder

Santander wore khakis with a stunning patterned turquoise jacket by Gentleman’s Playbook.

Tarik Skubal

Detroit Tigers Pitcher

Skubal wore an eggplant purple suit and paired it with the cutest accessory — his baby boy. His family’s outfits were overnight delivered and the pitcher admitted that they used Amazon to find some of the pieces.

CJ Abrams

Washington Nationals Shortstop

Abrams’ outfit was out of this world. He wore a light green Versace suit with an alien necklace and no shirt.

Jackson Merrill

San Diego Padres Outfielder

Merrill wore a blue plaid jacket, gifted by teammate and Padres shortstop Xander Bogaerts. He paired the jacket with Dior loafers. His girlfriend, Sam, wore a Peppermayo dress and a purse gifted to her by Merrill.

Neutral Tones

Paul Skenes

Pittsburgh Pirates Pitcher

The 22-year-old starting pitcher for the National League brought LSU gymnast girlfriend Livvy Dunne to his red carpet appearance. Wearing a white suit with a black tie, Skinnes led Dunne down the carpet by hand. She wore a neutral dress with rhinestones.

Gunnar Henderson

Baltimore Orioles Shortstop

Henderson wore a champagne silk and linen Gentleman’s Playbook suit. The inside patches noted this to be his first All-Star game and also included 2, his number. Girlfriend Katherine Bishop wore a pastel colored flowered dress, with pink embroidered accents.

At the Home Run Derby, the shortstop used a Scooby-Doo bat and charmed the commentators with his impression of the cartoon dog.

Aaron Judge

New York Yankees Outfielder

The 32-year-old AL starter wore black tuxedo pants with a gray jacket. He was dressed by Valentino, Dolce and Gabbana, and his wife, Samantha Bracksieck, who wore a white power suit.

Adley Rutschman

Baltimore Orioles Catcher

Rutschman wore a white silk Dolce and Gabbana shirt with flowy sleeves and a hanging tie. He paired the shirt with Saint Laurent sunglasses, black pants, and boots, and a Jason of Beverly Hills necklace. His girlfriend wore a bright pink dress with a high slit and knotted waist.

Josh Naylor

Cleveland Guardians First Baseman

Naylor wore a textured black velvet suit jacket and a sparkling diamond chain to match fiancée Chantel Collado as they made their way down the carpet.

Tanner Houck

Boston Red Sox Pitcher

Houck wore a three-piece tan plaid Hive and Colony suit. The suit was custom designed by him and his wife.

Freddie Freeman

Los Angeles Dodgers First Baseman

Walking down the carpet hand-in-hand with his family, Freeman wore a neutral plaid jacket by Bottega Veneta.

Personal Touches

Heliot Ramos

San Francisco Giants Outfielder

The Giants’ outfielder brought a piece of home with him to the carpet, showing off a patch of the Puerto Rican flag stitched onto the inside of his tan élevée suit.

Shohei Ohtani

Los Angeles Dodgers Designated Hitter

Ohtani wore a simple brown suit over a white shirt. He said his dog, Decoy, was the inspiration for the color. When he showed the inside of his jacket, the All-Star revealed drawings of his Dutch Kooikerhondje. Former basketball star, Mamiko Tanaka, wife of Ohtani, stunned in a simple white gown.

William Contreras

Milwaukee Brewers Catcher

Contreras posed in a tan Gentleman’s Playbook three-piece suit. The inside of the jacket showed pictures of himself and his team, as well as the flag of his home country, Venezuela, and his number 24.

Christian Yelich

Milwaukee Brewers Outfielder

Yelich wore a green houndstooth Gentleman’s Playbook suit. The inside of his jacket had a “CY” patch, as well as a patch with the All-Star Game logo. His white shirt sleeve was embroidered with his initials and he included a paisley pocket square. The NL starter’s family joined him on the carpet, wearing suits of similar shades.

Jurickson Profar

San Diego Padres Outfielder

Jurickson Profar walked the red carpet wearing a bright orange Gentleman’s Playbook suit jacket with matching shorts. His six-year-old son, Khairy, wore a completely matching outfit. The inside of the NL starter’s jacket was gold with his initials, number, nickname, and the Curaçao flag. Pictures of him and his son adorned the inside of Khairy’s jacket.

José Ramírez

Cleveland Guardians Third Baseman

The starting third baseman for the AL was dressed in a collaboration with Louis Vuitton. He wore a brown sweater with the LV logo and faces embroidered on. He paired the sweater with white pants and Cartier sunglasses that he added diamonds to.

Cowboy Couture

Bryce Harper

Philadelphia Phillies First Baseman

Harper thought it was important to match the vibe of the city, so the starting first baseman for the NL walked the carpet wearing cowboy boots, lightwash jeans and a large belt buckle, a light white shirt, and a cowboy hat. His family joined him and his wife, Kayla, wore a short, long-sleeve white feathered dress. Their four-month old baby stole the show. Her giant red head band bow was paired with a Phillies-adorned outfit and baby sneakers.

Reynaldo López

Atlanta Braves Pitcher

López went for a classic look, pairing a black cowboy hat with a simple gray suit.

Hunter Greene

Cincinnati Reds Pitcher

Greene went full Texas with a black Western fringe shirt and a cowboy hat to match. His family joined in on the fun, too, matching their looks to Greene’s black and white ensemble.

Elly De La Cruz

Cincinnati Reds Infielder

De La Cruz wore a Davidson Petit-Frère Wool and Silk Jersey stretch suit in mauve with a black cowboy hat.

On the field, De La Cruz hearkened back to his carpet look with custom pink Louis Vuitton cleats.
