Marvel actor Tom Holland has been filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day and marvel fans have been so keen to see the film roll out. News, however, emerged that shooting had been halted after Holland had purportedly cracked his head in a fall and was treated for a concussion after filming a stunt.
Tom Holland’s Stunt Work
Holland does much of his own stunts, which sets him apart from other actors in the superhero world. He trains with seasoned stunt doubles for the most dangerous scenes, but his background as a dancer and gymnast lets him handle a lot of the action himself. He is capable of doing much of the action himself.

Why Actors Do Their Own Stunts
He has an early advantage in doing the wirework for Infamous Spiderman webbing and flipping. It makes the character all the more real. Holland brings each action scene to life by risking his safety for the character.

Tom Cruise and the Art of the Big Stunt
However, a number of actors enhance their performances by performing their own stunts. For an actor like Tom Cruise, stunt work was never about impressing anyone but him or himself or the thrill of it. The Mission Impossible franchise is renowned for the most outlandish stunts. Cruise has done everything from motorbike stunts off a cliff to hanging off buildings. Each film does it increasingly more but that doesn’t take away from the danger.

The Perks and Pitfalls of Stunt Doubles
Actors doing their own stunts will always make the movie magic credible but danger will always be there. Holland’s recent concussion on set for the Spider-Man film is proof that stunt work is not for the faint of heart. Accidents can happen at any moment and even a practice scene can go south. These accidents remind everyone that movie stunts might look exciting on the big screen but danger lurks in the shadows behind them.
