The Four New Songs

With this opening track, Nicki Minaj and Swae Lee remind us that they make magic in the studio. Nicki even hints at their dynamic duo status as she sing-raps: “It’s Chun-Li and Swae Lee for the win-win/ Tell that bird this the queen she offendin’/ Pretty soon them knees gon’ be bendin’/ Got a pendant, sweet little indent.” The melodic tone and angelic harmonies make this the perfect song to vibe out to.

This song focuses on loyalty and checking in on that one special person. In the first verse, Nicki offers reassurance: “You know I gotta check for you/ When nobody else checks for you/ ‘Cause you know I was there for you/ When nobody else was there for you.” She also repeatedly asks, “Are you okay?” The island-inspired rhythm and catchy chorus make this track a heartwarming singalong and an irresistible earworm.

This fast-paced, upbeat collaboration with the late rapper Juice Wrld can be considered an anthem for girls with blonde hair. Throughout the song, Nicki gives a nod to her accomplishments and longevity by rapping: “I don’t need job applications for that pressure I apply/ That is why they gotta lie// That is just how they get by/ But my flow still gon’ be wavy and your flow still gon’ be dry/ I done f*cked the world up in ten short years.” The cocky lyrics and switch-up of flows make this a major standout.

This track showcases Nicki’s soulfulness as she’s reminding an ex that she’s unforgettable and irreplaceable. In the opening verse, Nicki confidently spits: “ ’Member me, cause that’s what the agenda be/ I’ll never fall, they’ll never September me/ Pretty Trini girl, that is what they render me.” The techno-like sound and Nicki’s vocal layering on this song will have you hooked.

Why ‘The Pinkprint’ Reigns Supreme

The Pinkprint has long been a fan favorite among Barbz. It’s admired for its vulnerable subject matter, top-tier lyricism, and relatability.

With themes of heartbreak, guilt, family, and resilience, certain songs can get you deep into your feelings. Tracks like “I Lied,” “Grand Piano,” and “Bed Of Lies” are the real tearjerkers. These songs explore the painful emotions that follow the end of a toxic relationship, resonating strongly with fans who can relate. Raw vulnerability also shines on “The Crying Game” where Nicki raps: “Ain’t no smilin’ faces here, we slammin’ doors and dishes/ Sayin’ we don’t miss each other, but it’s all fictitious/ Sayin’ that we had enough, but enough of what?/ Another slap to the face, another uppercut/ I’m just abusive by nature, not ’cause I hate ya.” Her self-reflection and unfiltered honesty on unhealthy relationships make this album authentic and highly praised by listeners.

While there are no major changes to The Pinkprint, it’s worth a listen and a nostalgic trip down memory lane. This re-release served as a celebration of Nicki’s success and a testament to her amazing wordplay. So, be prepared to cry, dance, and loudly rap along as you revisit this beautiful album.
