The ‘Love Is Blind’ Season 7 Drama Continues Off-Screen

When it comes to drama, Season 7 of Love Is Blind is a gift that keeps on giving. Viewers were hooked throughout the latest season of the hit Netflix dating show as bombshell secrets, deep insecurities and hidden fetishes plagued the series’ six couples on their journey to the altar. Since the season’s controversial reunion, the show’s buzz hasn’t died down – it seems the cast are committed to keeping the chaos going, even off-screen. Read on for a recap of all the Love Is Blind Season 7 drama that has gone down after the cameras stopped rolling.

Cutting Family Ties

It is undeniable that the season’s biggest controversy centered around Tyler Francis, who left the show married to his pod-match Ashley Adionser. While the couple seemed well-suited for each other, a confession in Episode 9 left viewers floored; Tyler admitted to Ashley that he had three children, a detail he neglected to mention during their time in the pods. On the show, Tyler explained to Ashley that he was simply a sperm donor for a friend and did not play an active role in the children’s lives.

As the episode aired, however, fans of the show dug up old photos that pointed to Tyler playing a more active role in his kids’ lives than he initially let on. This was further fueled by a series of videos posted by the mother of his children, Bri Thomas, who claimed that she and Tyler conceived two of their children naturally, not through sperm donation, and that he stopped reaching out to see the children after participating in Love Is Blind

Despite this information surfacing online, Ashley and Tyler assured the public that Tyler’s actions were misunderstood. Ashley has publicly defended her decision to stay with Tyler despite brutal backlash online.

This backlash only worsened after Tyler’s recent appearance on the Dear Future Wifey podcast. In a two-hour interview, Tyler was asked about his decision to go on the show, his marriage with Ashley and the drama surrounding his children. Throughout the episode, Tyler maintained that he initially agreed to play a limited “uncle” role in his children’s lives. He also claimed that Bri would alternate between welcoming his involvement and pushing him away from the children, refuting responsibility for his inconsistent presence in their lives.

Tyler was not clear about how his youngest children were conceived, but he was quite clear on his desires moving forward. “I want them to have their family and leave me alone,” he said, referencing Bri and her current partner.

I want them to have their family and leave me alone.”

Though Tyler attempted to clear his name, the interview has not been received well by Love Is Blind fans.

Alleged Infidelity

Throughout the series’ history, hosts Vanessa and Nick Lachey have expressed their disdain for participants who come on the show for the “wrong reasons” – an accusation reserved for cast members who seem more interested in chasing fame than finding love. Last season, Trevor Sova caused an uproar online after rumors swirled that he went on the show while in a relationship purely for fame. This season, similar allegations are brewing around Brittany Wisniewski

Although Brittany’s time on the show was cut short after her engagement to wealthy art dealer Leo Braudy, she captured viewers’ interest with her admitted desire to be a trophy wife. Leo and Brittany left the season relatively unscathed, with audiences warming up to their personalities after their chummy appearance at the season reunion. After the reunion, however, TMZ reported that Brittany has been romantically linked to someone for the last four years. According to the report, sources also allege that Brittany confessed to only participating in the show for fame and potential brand deals.

This drama came to a head after Brittany was recently seen with singer Mod Sun in Los Angeles. The report shares that Brittany’s romantic partner was “blindsided” by footage of the singer and Love Is Blind star looking particularly cozy. “We were knowingly in a committed relationship,” he told TMZ. Brittany has yet to comment on the matter.

One of the most surprising revelations from this season’s reunion was the strong bond between Hannah Jiles and Marissa George. Hannah was heavily criticized for her harsh – and some argue, abusive – treatment of her fiancé, Nick Dorka, throughout this season. During the reunion, Marissa pushed Nick to confess to speaking poorly of Hannah off-camera. Though Marissa admitted Hannah’s behavior wasn’t always justified, Marissa insisted that Nick was not as innocent as he tried to appear. It was clear that Marissa and Hannah had bonded in the year since filming.

After the reunion, something seemed to shift. “We’re not best friends,” Marissa told Good Morning Washington in an interview on November 1. “We’re working through that,” she said, referencing how difficult it was to watch Hannah’s on-screen behavior. “I do think the way Hannah acted was really horrible towards Nick,” she continued.

On November 8, however, the pair posted a TikTok together with the caption, “It was never that serious.” It seems the duo made up just as quickly as they fell out.

Though it’s been nearly a month since the season finale aired, the drama surrounding the latest installment of Love Is Blind continues to entertain fans and hate-watchers alike. For those who are ready for a fresh cast, Season 8 of Love Is Blind is set to air on February 14, 2025, promising a whole new season of chaos just in time for Valentine’s Day.
