Daily romanticism brings thoughts of a desk filled with your productive work, Polaroids of friends stuck to your mirrors, and the clothes you thrifted still hanging in your closet: a space that screams YOU! Romanticizing your home doesn’t necessarily equate to meticulously folded linens, an ultra organized desk, or an intensive spring cleaning. Start small. What makes you appreciate your space a bit more? How about some flowers?
This pro tip is from geenalillian on Tiktok, who makes a continuous effort to incorporate fresh floral arrangements in her home. Stop by Trader Joe’s for some of their peonies or Whole Foods for a gorgeous bundle of stargazer lilies that will brighten up your room. Trust me—you won’t regret running to your local market. Especially when you get a whiff of those flowers while you work from home.
Cry Laughing Every Wednesday

This romanticism tip comes from a fellow friend of mine who is always the first person to suggest watching something funny when life feels like one big, unassuming “blah.” For me, the film that never fails to pull a giggle out of me is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Dragging your date to a Céline Dion concert? Cutting up faces from a magazine to make a scrapbook of your future kids? (Mind you, this must be done immediately after the first date, at least according to Andy Anderson). I think it’s safe to say old is gold. Don’t hesitate to gravitate to the first film that comes to mind. You know yourself best!

I know, I know. Almost every social media outlet encourages us to pick up a hobby to revamp our lifestyles. But how many of us actually follow through and keep up with it? Romanticizing your daily habits means being real about what hobbies you pick up. Going for a five mile run every morning? Probably not the vibe for anything long-term. Baking strawberry cinnamon rolls? Now we’re talking.
Your hobby doesn’t have to be rigorous or completely alter your routine. After all, the point of romanticizing is to boost your joy and improve your day-to-day. Toss a few cupcakes into the oven while you read your romantasy. Throw on a ten minute guided meditation while on commercial break. Keeping it low-maintenance is key to sticking with your new hobby. The most important part is that you’re able to DO. Doing is way more easier when it’s low stakes.
Show Your Skin Some Romance

Take your skin on a date once a week. You heard me. Offer her a nice, hydrating sheet mask. Better yet, treat her to a meal: drink that Vitamin C and eat your collagen for a glowy complexion. Carve out an hour of your Friday night or a bit of your Sunday morning and romanticize your skincare. Turn up your fave playlist and dance while you wait on your mud mask to dry. Have you considered cucumbers slices over your eyes? It’s totally giving The Princess Diaries. Let’s get to romanticizing your skin, fellow Mia Thermopolis.
So, what will it be, N Crowd? Bunches of flowers? Laughing until your stomach hurts? A new hobby like baking, or a bit of TLC for your skin? Mix and match the things you think will help romanticize your spring. Drop any other tips you might have below!
