After a competitive and occasionally controversial start to the 2025 awards season, stars from every corner of the film world gathered at the Dolby Theater on Sunday evening for the 97th Academy Awards. Each year, attendees pull out all the stops for the Oscars red carpet, and this year was no exception.
Though the event’s fashion is always a mixed bag, the 2025 Oscars red carpet saw several trends take dominance. This year saw many attendees paying homage to old Hollywood, including Mikey Madison with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s-inspired look and Raye, whose red dress brought all the old Hollywood glamour. Others, including the leading ladies of Wicked and Emilia Perez star Zoe Saldaña, wore looks that experimented with unconventional silhouettes. And while many attendees opted for the blush, neutral and metallic tones that are often associated with the Oscars carpet, others, including Michelle Yeoh and Timothée Chalamet, brought bursts of color to this year’s event.
