The Saturday Night Live cast for Season 51 has been finalized, including plenty of familiar faces alongside a few fresh comedians. The shift is a part of producer Lorne Michaels’ annual shake-up in between seasons
Who’s Joining the Crew
Ben Marshall

Ben Marshall is not such a fresh face; in fact, we have been seeing him on SNL sketches since his sketch comedy group Please Don’t Destroy joined as writers in 2021. The trio has created and starred in many digital sketches since their arrival, including their signature dry and absurdist humor. It will be exciting to see how his comedic niche fits in with the new cast for Season 51.
Tommy Brennan

Tommy Brennan is known for his work in stand-up comedy, although he got his start doing improv at The Second City in Chicago. Since becoming a full-time comic, he’s opened for big names such as Nikki Glaser and Taylor Tomlinson. His prolific stand-up career thus far, combined with his background in sketch comedy, will hopefully make him a valuable cast member.
Kam Patterson

Kam Patterson, a former firefighter, got his start in stand-up at open mic nights. He gained popularity on the podcast Kill Tony, which gives a platform to up-and-coming comics, when his set was very successful. His quick-witted and provocative stand-up persona will translate to SNL sketches in a unique way that will be interesting to see.
Veronika Slowikowska

Veronika Slowikowska got her start performing in improv troupes in Canada, her native country. She has made appearances in television and dabbled in music, but she’s best known for her online sketches and podcasting. Her followers will be delighted to see her become the first Canadian cast member since Season 20.
Jeremy Culhane

Jeremy Culhane is best known for his online sketch writing and his guest star roles on various TV shows. He also has a prolific improv background, including a spot as a guest and temporary host on Dropout’s show Game Changers. SNL will be a thrilling introduction to mainstream comedic recognition for Culhane.
Although the new recruits will replace beloved regulars Heidi Gardner, Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, and Michael Longfellow, this new era is a promising one. As the world around us changes, so does our sense of humor. A fresh cast for a new SNL season is an excellent way to keep us current in the mainstream comedy world, and we’re excited to see where the show goes from here.
