New Year's Guide to Curating a Vision Board

The New Year is approaching, so that means a new version of yourself is defrosting. It’s the season to reestablish your goals for 2026, and at Just N Life, we have the ultimate guide to start.

Straying away from the “law of attraction” of it all, the hope that a new year offers a fresh start keeps the tradition alive. And what better way to ignite optimism than to stamp it onto a vision board?

Vision boards are a fun way to discover your goals. They give you the opportunity to ask yourself through photographs what you want out of life. So, we are throwing out the New Year’s resolutions that we probably won’t commit to and opting for vision boards instead.

A question you want to ask yourself before getting started is: What do I want to happen before the year ends? After answering that, the real fun can begin.

With vision boards, the more creative, the better. This way, it keeps you from taking the project too seriously and forming an unhealthy attachment to it. You can use pictures, magazine scraps, stickers, famous quotes from psychoanalytic poets, and anything else that makes it visually appealing.

The versatility of Canva lies in its ready-made design templates. It’s simple and easy; all it takes is for you to select your preferred template, upload your photos, and the work is done for you. Vision boards aren’t required to be filled with photographs either. Sometimes the power is in the words.

Whether or not you believe vision boards work, it’s fun to use your imagination to dream of the person you want to be. Creating them can also be a fun party idea with friends if you’d rather stay inside to ring in the new year. Drinks, good food, and good friends make a good party to help you curate your dream life (or dream year).
