Keep calm because Mother Fitness is here! On Dec. 28, 2023, rapper and fitness advocate, Megan Thee Stallion announced a partnership deal with the “judgement-free zone,” Planet Fitness. The announcement came as a kickstart to the new year at Dick Clark’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, where she took over the stage following a performance by LL Cool J.
Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, signed with 300 Entertainment in 2018, where she would produce and perform her hit single “Hot Girl Summer featuring Ty Dolla Sign and Nicki Minaj. Following her success in the music industry, the 28-year-old partnered with Nike and fitness trainer Tara Nicolas. Together the two share a variety of workouts via the NTC app.
The partnership with Planet Fitness aims to connect two different worlds of music and exercise, which combined we know help create and drive motivation to get “hot girl fit.”
In a recent interview with ENews, Megan Thee stallion stated that she enjoys sharing her fitness journey and struggle with her fans highlighting that fitness is “just really about discipline.” In addition to sharing her fitness journey through Nike, she also shares some of her favorite merch and products from the brand often to inspire and motivate her fans to get “hot girl fit.”
In addition to Megan’s fitness partnership with the “Judgement free zone,” The “Savage” rapper launched her mental health platform, Bad Bitches Have Bad Days Too.
The site consists of a list of diverse mental health resources for those struggling with anxiety and depression. The launch of her site was in association with her single “Anxiety” from her second album, “Traumazine.”
According to Today, the website also features links to free therapy organizations and other mental health resources targeted towards black women and the LGBTQ+ community. Throughout her career the “Body” rapper has been open about her battles with mental health.
