If you thought the N Crew was a human-only operation, think again! Here at Just N Life, we value our furry family members and all that they do for us. From providing comfort during a tough article draft to eavesdropping on our weekly meetings, they’re more than part of the team. They’re part of our lives! Without further ado, let’s meet these journalistic, superstar pups!
Fox
Morgan Borland, our Junior Writer, knows all about “larger than life” with her Great Dane/Rhodesian Ridgeback boy! Fox is four and a half years old with the spirit of a one year old. When he’s not sitting beside Borland during a pitch meeting taking notes, he’s sprinting around the yard with classic Dane “zoomies”. Don’t let that short-lived energy fool you though! Five minutes in and he’ll be snoozing on the couch for hours. He is the sweetest boy with an even sweeter heart, and he’ll be five years old come January!
Momo
On the opposite side of the size spectrum, our Senior Writer Vanessa Sweis has a sassy little Shih Tzu named Momo! She is seven years old and her favorite pastime is napping, something we can all certainly relate to! Momo is a huge proponent for sunbathing and getting in her Vitamin D fix. If you have chicken anywhere near her vicinity, don’t even think about not sharing. She’s tiny yet mighty—ninety percent of the time. The other ten percent is lost to her arch nemesis: bath time.
Appa
Not large, but definitely in charge, is another Shih Tzu! Kayla Britton-Dockery, our Copy Editor, has had Appa for four years and couldn’t be happier. He loves to stay active with daily walks, running wild during playtime, and acting as co-driver for car rides with Britton-Dockery. Appa’s favorite time of the day is snack time (hello, relatable king!?), and he will take full advantage of his puppy dog eyes to extend his snack time. Britton-Dockery’s favorite thing about Appa is his braveness, protectiveness, and zero tolerance for nonsense. Despite looking adorable in doggy clothes, his tolerance for dressing up is zero. According to Britton-Dockery, you can try to tell him no, but you won’t get very far!
Nandi
Our emotional support pup of the team, Nandi, is sure to melt your heart the second you lay eyes on her. Kayla Blasingame, our Junior Writer, crossed paths with the doe-eyed Labradoodle in March 2024. She’s just one year old but has already left a lasting impression on Blasingame and her family. Nandi is mixed with half Labrador and half Goldendoodle, but in Blasingame’s opinion, she’s more accurately described as, “the perfect blend of joy and fluff.” Nandi loves taking car rides with her family and is up for a snuggle session any time of the week. She looks just like a stuffed animal herself, so that could explain why she loves sleeping with her owner’s stuffed animals at night! If you’re not wowed just yet, wait until you hear about Nandi’s signature move. Every time a guest comes over to the house, Nandi will grab any item within reach and bring it to them as her own personal welcoming gift. Talk about a heart bribery!
Honey
She may be the oldest member of our K9 team, but that doesn’t stop Honey from taking each day by storm, just like her owner and our Managing Copy Editor, Jordan Manson. Honey is a gentle soul who was rescued from a history of abuse. She is nine years old, but her exact birthday is unknown, so Manson tries to celebrate it during the summer months! Her explanation? Honey has an early summer energy about her. Okay, queen! Honey loves to run, have dance parties, and enjoys a luxurious pup cup from Dunkin. Manson admits that Honey is a spoiled brat, but hey, she’s HER spoiled brat. Manson’s favorite trait about Honey is that she makes her feel loved and safe, while giving her a purpose each and every day. We could all aspire to be a bit more like Miss Honey!
We work hard here at JNL, but we have to shout out our behind the scenes cheerleaders of the N Crew. On the hardest days with the biggest workload, our lovable pups are there to support us every time so we can finish strong. Behind each published article is our JNL dogs rooting for us. How could you not achieve great things with such a supportive best friend beside you?
