“Love Island USA” Star Hannah Smith Issues an Apology After Using Racial Slurs During Recent Arrest

Hannah Smith, former “Love Island USA” season 6 contestant, is in deep water after assaulting a police officer using physical force and racial aggression.

On Sept. 30, Smith was escorted outside of the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta during a Gracie Abrams concert. She was intoxicated and behaving in a disorderly way, yelling and screaming at the officers attempting to de-escalate the situation, according to police. However, the situation escalated as Smith threatened and directed a strew of racial slurs to the officer.

Police reports detail the altercation, with Smith saying, “I am going to kill you and your sister. B****. I can’t wait to kill you, you dumbass, ugly b**** ‘cause you’re f****** fat, and they love us skinny b*****s ‘cause you’re f****** Black and I hate Black b*****s so I can’t wait to kill you and your sister, you dumbass b****.”

Afterward, during an attempt to detain her, Smith managed to punch an officer in the arm.

Smith was arrested on two felonies: terroristic threats and willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer. She was released the following day pending an $8,000 bail and is waiting to see if prosecutors will move forward with charges.

Smith allegedly has no recollection of the events that night. Her attorney, Mike Hawkinsreiterates to TMZ that she ordered a drink and left it to take pictures with fans.

“Shortly thereafter she has no memory of the events that occurred during, or after the concert,” he said. “Hannah is deeply troubled by these events. She regrets any actions she took that offended anyone, including law enforcement.”

Late last night, Smith took to Instagram to issue an apology and while she admitted to her actions, she still included, “This experience has been incredibly humbling and challenging because I simply have no recollection of that night. This is out of my character and I would truly never say things of that nature to hurt anyone.”

The internet is not buying it and neither are we, as drunk words are sober thoughts. Her 10 days on “Love Island USA” were also defined by her interest in Coye Simmons, a Haitian man from Winston-Salem, NC, and Kendall Washington, a mixed-race man from Dallas, TX,  which makes her aggression towards the community they come from even more alarming.

Many of the “Love Island USA” cast members have unfollowed Hannah on Instagram, excluding Coye and the official @LoveIslandUSA account.
