Hello everyone! I'm Magdalene Herrera, a writer and editor currently…
Polarizing ‘Looksmaxxing’ influencer Braden Peters—known as Clavicular online—faces criminal charges of rape. The charges stem from a May 2025 incident in Massachusetts.
The case, filed on September 8, accuse the 20-year-old influencer of three crimes: felony rape, felony drugging persons for sexual intercourse and a misdemeanor charge for supplying alcohol while under 21.
‘Looksmaxxing’ is “…a community of mostly men on the internet who [try to make] themselves more attractive by any means necessary,” said New York Times reporter Joseph Bernstein.
Peters famously takes extremes in looksmaxxing, including ‘bonesmashing,’ overdosing on drugs to eat less, livestreaming a plastic surgery procedure and more.
If convicted, Peters faces up to 20 years in prison. His arraignment is on October 14.
18-year-old Influencer Aleksandra Vasilevna Mendoza (AKA Alorah Ziva) filed a similar civil lawsuit against the ‘Looksmaxxer’ in April. Charged in Florida, Mendoza alleged battery, fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and unauthorized publication of name and likeness. She seeks at least $50,000 in damages.
The May 2025 assault first appeared in this lawsuit before the September 2026 criminal charges.
Peters later filed a motion to dismiss charges Mendoza made in July.
In a statement for the Daily Mail, Peters’ representative denied the allegations. “She files a lawsuit and doesn’t include sexual assault as a count. Then she amends it and adds it a couple of months later. [Peters] then filed a motion to dismiss fighting the civil lawsuit because letter/text messages show she knew what was happening with the injections and he refused to pay money. She and her lawyer then go to police.”
Peters has continuously posted content on X and TikTok, blaming Mendoza for “trying to be greedy and get a check,” and “[This] happens to all successful young men, people try to come for your money. Greed is evil.”
@clavicular Yea still texting me to this day… totally not just trying to be greedy and get a check 💰

Followers and fans of Peters continue to accuse Mendoza of false accusations and claim that Peters is innocent.
Mendoza claims that Peters told her that he wanted her to become the female face of the ‘looksmaxxing’ community. When Mendoza was 17, she alleges Peters paid her $1,000 to film videos for him. After filming four videos, the assault took place.
The complaint specifies the alleged crime occurred in Peters’ Cape Cod home, where he invited Mendoza over to livestream and increase her online presence. She confirmed Peters knew “…her age…she confirmed [17 years old],” AP News reported from the police complaint narrative.
Peters allegedly escorted Mendoza to his bedroom and instructed to lie on a livestream that she was 18 years old, and the alcohol provided was water. She later got “really drunk,” made out with Peters, then fell asleep. It was while she was unconscious that she awoke to Peters having sex with her without her consent.
The pair did not speak until November 2025, when Mendoza appeared on another livestream with Peters. During this stream, Mendoza claims Peters injected Aqualyx into her face, and streamed administering the treatment. Aqualyx is an injectable fat-dissolving treatment that is not approved by the FDA.
Us Magazine reported that Mendoza’s attorney alleged that Peters wanted to inject her face “to melt fat on her cheeks as part of his promise to help her with her online presence through ‘looksmaxxing.’ During this session, Peters stated or implied that he was acting with medical authority, including by referring to himself as a doctor or otherwise holding himself out as qualified to perform the injection.”
Steve Kramer, Peters’ attorney, denied the claims to Rolling Stone. “These are allegations only and remain unproven. Mr. Peters denies the claims and disputes the characterization of events. He will respond through the appropriate legal channels and intends to vigorously defend himself. We will not comment further at this time.”
These charges show how ineffective the goal of ‘looksmaxxing’ is for its followers. Peters’ social standing also emphasizes the dangers of following these extremist creators and figures who encourage this behavior in young men and boys.
