Lizzo just got a legal win in her ongoing case involving three former backup dancers, but the story isn’t wrapped up yet. According to TMZ, the pop singer was recently cleared of fat-shaming allegations brought by Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez, and Crystal Williams.
Back in 2023, the three dancers filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against Lizzo, her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., and her former dance captain, Shirlene Quigley, alleging sexual harassment and a hostile work environment during their time on tour.
As reported by TMZ, Lizzo’s attorney Marty Singer said the fat-shaming claims were dismissed after 18 witnesses submitted sworn declarations refuting the allegations.

What Did Lizzo Have To Say?
Lizzo addressed the decision in an Instagram video, where she appeared on screen but let the text do the talking. In the post, she said the fat-shaming claims against her had “officially been dropped” by her accusers, adding that they conceded the allegations had no merit in court.
She said she never fired the dancers over weight gain. That “never happened,” she stressed. Instead, Lizzo said they were let go because they allegedly recorded her without permission and shared it with former employees.
“I have never fired an employee for gaining weight,” she wrote. She also made it clear she’s always been supportive of bigger bodies and uses her platform to uplift people.
The whole thing hit her hard. She said the accusations “haunted” her. Staying quiet while her lawyers handled it was “devastating.” But she’s not done. Not by a long shot. Lizzo said she’s fighting every claim until the truth comes out.
What Parts of the Lawsuit Are Still Active?
Even with the fat-shaming claims dismissed, several allegations in the case are still active, including false imprisonment and harassment. Davis, Rodriguez, and Williams have alleged that Lizzo exposed them to adult entertainment venues while touring in Europe, including locations in Amsterdam and Paris.

The dancers claimed Lizzo pressured them to interact with sex performers at Bananenbar, a famous adult club in Amsterdam. She’s denied it completely.
Fans React to the Claims Against Lizzo
Many fans agreed the fat-shaming claims never made sense, especially given Lizzo’s reputation as a proud, body-positive artist. Others were surprised by the other heinous allegations in the lawsuit.
One X user pointed out that, based on the 2022 competition show Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, where Lizzo chose these dancers, she may have blurred boundaries with her team. Fans noted she seemed very hands-on, partying with the dancers, managing discipline directly, and even visiting adult venues with them.
While the fat-shaming thing never made sense (Lizzo has a known reputation as a very proud fat woman) — the other allegations in this lawsuit on this are wild, especially if you watched the competition show from 2023 about how she actually chose these dancers. I like that Lizzo…

A lot of people are loving that Lizzo is standing her ground. But some think the way she interacted with the dancers might have made them feel uncomfortable or caught off guard.

N Crowd, the case isn’t over yet. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with Davis, Rodriguez, and Williams. For now, Lizzo and her team aren’t backing down. Looks like they’re ready to drop receipts and prove their side of the story.
