Whether you’re a Selenator or a Belieber, there’s one thing we all can agree on: Justin Bieber‘s back-to-back Instagram activity is out of the norm for the 31-year-old singer. The Canadian pop icon is known for being relatively inactive on social media, but recently, Bieber has broken his silence, and fans can’t help but wonder if it has to do with the release of Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco‘s new album, I Said I Love You First.

After unfollowing former friend Blanco, Bieber proceeded to post a series of photos with songs on his Instagram. In one post, the Canadian singer included a photo of himself with the 2PAC song “Hit Em Up.” A story of Bieber’s also read, “I really tried to play nicey nicey,” perhaps alluding to Gomez and Blanco. Fans suspect that a lot of his frequent posts include lyrical cryptic messages meant for the couple, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

While Justin Bieber’s Instagram activity is one thing, Selenators and Beliebers alike can’t help but take a closer listen to Gomez’s new album. Fans suspect Gomez’s song, “How Does It Feel To Be Forgotten” alludes to her former relationship with Bieber. Undeniably catchy and meaningful, the lyrics are also suspected to refer to Bieber: “You’re so embarrassing/Go cry when no one’s watching/I can’t imagine it/How does it feel to be forgotten/I hope one day you heal.” Listeners of the new album have also interpreted the song as a reference to Gomez’s own self and her journey in healing.
The 32-year-old actress and singer has been vocal about her healing journey and relationships throughout her career. After news of her engagement to the American record producer and songwriter, Gomez and Blanco guest-starred on various talk shows, discussing their exciting new announcement and relationship dynamics.

In an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Gomez shared how she chose someone who is a good person: “I think every woman or any human can feel this way. You go through a lot of different stages in your life. Some things make you more insecure, some things make you feel unsafe, or you’re paranoid about who you’re waking up to that day. It’s very realistic, and it happens. I remember when I went through my last breakup, and I said to myself, I think I should just spend some time with myself first. So, my advice would be to simply understand what you deserve, but also understand that you don’t need to complete somebody. You want to be fully complete yourself.”
