It has been two years since Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale blessed our screens, and we’re excited for its return. Based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel, this show follows June Osborne (Elisabeth Moss), a woman forced into servitude as a handmaid in the dystopian society of Gilead. Being stripped of her rights, June challenges the system and fights to reclaim her autonomy and protect her loved ones. With powerful themes of oppression, misogyny, and the fight for freedom, this show will have you in tears and on the edge of your seat.

Season five’s cliffhangers left fans with burning questions for the final season. Will June and Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) have a friendship? Will Luke (O-T Fagbenle) be released after being arrested? Can Janine (Madeline Brewer) escape The Eyes’ custody and reunite with her daughter Angela? And will Rose (Carey Cox) and Nick (Max Minghella) get back together?

Luckily, there have been a few updates on the show throughout the year. Here’s everything you need to know about the sixth and final season of The Handmaid’s Tale.

In an Instagram post, Hulu announced that filming for season 6 began on September 6th, 2024.

In an interview with Elle, Elisabeth Moss teased that June will figure out who she’s going to be for the remainder of her life in the new season.
