If you’re like me, you find nothing better during Fall than a cool breeze and Gilmore Girls.
It began when I discovered all my male coworkers became obsessed with the show, watching it with their girlfriends. From their recommendation, I decided to give it a chance and, like millions of others, became instantly hooked. Perhaps it was because I was raised by a single mother. Maybe it was the small fictional town that spoke to me. I’m willing to bet it was both.
Like many fans, I dreamt of living in such a place. As a cook who dreamt of one day owning a restaurant. I’ve joked many times that I would open a diner, wear a flannel and a backwards cap every day, and be rude to every customer that walks in. I would never actually be rude to customers. However, there have been moments when I seriously considered working in a diner.
Whether it be the diner or Stars Hollow, a funny dream is all it was (because Stars Hollow is a fictional town and Luke’s Diner is not real).

But what if I told you there’s a small, quaint town roughly thirty minutes north of Ann Arbor transforming itself into the fictional Stars Hollow? That’s right—in its second annual event, Destination Stars Hollow returns September 20 and 21, with a VIP Night on Friday, September 19 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Founded by Kathleen London (owner of London Beauty) and Laura Boote (local content creator). Destination Stars Hollow was a smash hit in its first year, welcoming over 40,000 fans.
This year, there’s even more to look forward to: meet-and-greets with special guests like Scott Patterson, the actor who plays grumpy, backwards-cap-wearing diner owner Luke Danes (tickets already sold out), and Rose Abdoo, who played the loving but sarcastic mechanic Gypsy. If you’d like a chance to meet one of the original stars, reserve your tickets sooner rather than later.

There’s also a Stars Hollow Secrets Q&A event on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
It wouldn’t be a Gilmore Girls experience without themed events. Including Town Hall meetings, a “Dance-a-thon,” a “Knit-a-thon,” a “Chilton Fashion Show,” and “Bid-a-Basket“. All your favorite Gilmore Girls moments brought to life for two full days.
Even though I myself have yet to attend the event, I have visited Brighton many times, and I can honestly say there’s no better place to bring Stars Hollow to life.
