Wedding bells are ringing once again, as another celebrity couple has announced their engagement. Dove Cameron and Damiano David are getting married! This was shared on January 3 via an Instagram post, and we couldn’t be more excited for the couple. Cameron has gone through many relationships before and, through trial and error, has seemingly found the one for her.
Ryan McCartan
Her first public romance emerged when she starred on Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie. She was with her castmate Ryan McCartan in 2013, and the couple were briefly engaged before they split in 2016. In a since-deleted Instagram post, McCartan wrote, “Dedicating my one thousandth post to my fiancée. I can’t believe I get to call you that. Thanks for saying yes.”
It was less than six months after their engagement that McCartan shared that he and Cameron had ended their relationship. “Dove has decided this relationship isn’t what she wants. We still love each other very much, please be sensitive, as this is painful,” which was written in a since-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) in October 2016.
Thomas Doherty
After that, Cameron met Scottish actor Thomas Doherty when he joined the cast of Descendants 2, a film she had worked on with the Disney Channel. The couple had confirmed their relationship in February 2017, a few months after the movie’s release.
In an interview with People magazine, she said, “We’re dating. I’m keeping it sort of… we’re keeping it to ourselves, because everything is just so more romantic and real when it’s yours and it’s private,” Cameron continued, “So, we are keeping the details to ourselves, but yeah, we’re dating.” They were long-distance for a part of their relationship when Doherty was based in London.
Not long after, in December 2020, Cameron confirmed with People that they had split up two months prior. “We know there have been some rumors and confusion lately about the status of our relationship, and we wanted to set the record straight.”
Damiano David
Cut to September 2023, and rumors began to circulate about Cameron and David when the actress was seen attending one of Måneskin’s concerts. Also, a few months prior, David had announced his split from long-term girlfriend Giorgia Soleri.
The rumors heated up in January 2024, as David and Cameron were spotted on a dinner date in Los Angeles. This was just a month after they confirmed their relationship status during their red-carpet debut at Clive Davis‘s annual pre-Grammy gala.
