The couple, Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, and HR executive Kristin Cabot panicked as they were displayed on the show’s big screen. Byron and Cabot, who were locked in a close embrace, frantically hid from the cameras.

As the camera panned over to Byron and Cabot, Chris Martin shared some commentary about the flustered duo. “Whoa, look at these two,” He said to the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. “Alright, come on. You’re okay. Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Martin was ten steps ahead of all of us, even with his joking about the possibility of an affair. The stadium went into an uproar, and fans took to social media, where the cheating scandal became viral almost instantly. Grace Springer, among the crowd in Foxborough, happened to be filming, catching Byron and Cabot on camera.
In her interview with the Daily Mail, she made a statement about her viral video: “I definitely feel for Andy’s wife, Megan, his family, and everyone else who’s been hurt in the process. But, as I said, there was over 50,000 people and I’m not the only one that caught it on camera. So, if it wasn’t me who uploaded it, I’m sure someone else would’ve.”
The Aftermath of The Coldplay Cheating Scandal
Following the sparks of cheating rumors, Byron resigned from his position as CEO of the AI startup, Astronomer. According to the Daily Mail, his wife, Megan Byron, has reportedly returned to her family’s estate in Maine. Following said rumors, Byron’s wife and mother of their two children, also reverted all of her social handles back to her maiden name. Cabot and her husband, on the other hand, have both remained quiet regarding the affair rumors.
What did Coldplay think of all of this? In a following concert, Martin made sure to playfully warn the stadium about the “kiss-cam.” In a clip shared by the Daily Mail’s TikTok, the Coldplay frontman gave the crowd a heads up: “How we’re gonna do that is use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen. So, please, if you haven’t done your makeup, do your makeup now.”

Coldplay fans and social media users, however, have been recreating the scandal on July 16. TikTokers have been poking fun at the situation, giving input on how they’d handle the unexpected “kiss-cam.” Even the Phillie Phanatic mascots added their own twist on the Coldplay incident.
As “Coldplay-gate” continues to garter the attention of millions, Astronomer shared an updated statement on the company’s LinkedIn:
“As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.
Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.

Following the company’s official announcement, social media still anticipates news regarding Byron and Cabot, who have not yet made any statements.
