In case you missed it, a new hallmark holiday movie was released on November 30, and the story may be more familiar than you’d expect. Hallmark teamed up with the Kansas City Chiefs to bring viewers a story of football romance, much like that of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Starring Hunter King, sister of Joey King, and Tyler Hynes, this movie follows the story of a die-hard Chiefs fan winning the Fan of the Year contest and falling in love. Despite common misconceptions Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story has nothing to do with Swift and Kelce, though another recent release takes a rip off of their love story.
Christmas in the Spotlight which aired November 23, is a Lifetime movie directly following the famous love story that fans know so well. Starring Jessica Lord and Laith Wallschleger, this is the movie to watch if you’re interested in the pop-star-football-player romance story that we’ve seen play out all over social media. TikTok’s very own Haley Kalil is even featured in this movie!
The reason why people may mix these two movies up boils down to the internet’s favorite boy mom: Donna Kelce. Though she doesn’t feature in the movie that directly tells the story of her son’s love, she is a part of the Chiefs love story and is even rumored to wear Travis Kelce’s jersey in the movie.
We personally love a silly, light-hearted holiday movie, so bring both of these on! Stay tuned for reviews of both of these movies, though we don’t know what to expect from either.
