Cardi B was recently hospitalized due to a “medical emergency,” as she wrote in an Oct. 23 Instagram post. Her health scare forced her to cancel her ONE MusicFest appearance just three days before the show.
“I am so sad to share this news,” Cardi wrote, “but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple days and I won’t be able to perform ONE MusicFest.”
The “WAP” rapper was scheduled to kick off the ceremony’s 15th anniversary in Atlanta’s Civic Center on Oct. 26 with Earth, Wind & Fire, Fantasia, Method Man, Redman, Nelly, and Ari Lennox.
Cardi didn’t explain her condition, but she did say she regretted that she couldn’t be at the festival. She ended off the post by thanking her fans for their understanding and that she’ll “be back better and stronger soon.”
ONE MusicFest came out in support of Cardi B, reposting her Oct. 23 post and asking everyone to “keep her in our prayers for a full recovery” and to stay tuned for an update on her replacement.
Some fans were not happy about the outcome.
“I’m about to report my tickets as fraud,” one commenter said.
“Honestly, y’all should have had a replacement when y’all knew she was pregnant,” another said.
Some even suspected that Cardi was not sick at all.
“Cardi was just at Doja Cat birthday party two nights ago she aint sick,” one commenter wrote.
For the record, Cardi was not in fact at Doja Cat’s party, as a report from TMZ does not mention her being in attendance.
In the midst of Cardi’s health concerns, she is also currently going through a divorce with Migos rapper Offset, who she shares three children with, including her youngest daughter who was born in September.
