On February 2, Beyoncé made musical history at the Grammy Awards.
After over fifty years, the “16 Carriages” singer won Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter as well as Album of the Year. Cowboy Carter showcased a different twist on country music, involving a brilliant take on country and Americana that brought a fresh perspective to the genre in March of 2024. Previously, the Pointer Sisters had taken home the award for Best Country Vocal Performance in 1974 for “Fairytale” as a duo or group.

The 43-year-old singer gave a speech after being presented with the award, stating: “I feel very full and very honored. It has been many, many years. I just want to thank the Grammys, every songwriter, every collaborator, every producer, all of the hard work.”
She added, “I want to dedicate this to Ms. Martell. And I hope we just keep pushing forward, opening doors,” ending her acceptance of her award on an inspirational note.

The heartfelt moment was even more touching as Beyoncé took home album of the year for her eighth studio album with her daughter, Blue Ivy beside her. Beyoncé wore a gorgeous golden dress with glittering detailing and matching gloves, while Blue Ivy wowed in an elegant royal-blue gown. The mother-daughter duo were nothing short of stunning as they embraced to celebrate her win.

Not only was Beyoncé’s win one for the books, especially given that it happened during Black History Month, but it was also perfect timing with her recent tour announcement on Instagram. Her Cowboy Carter tour will begin April 28 until July 11, 2025, consisting of 22 shows over nine cities in the U.S. and Europe as well. The tour includes Chicago, Los Angeles, East Rutherford, London, Paris, and Houston, among many other stops.

As mentioned on the Grammy Awards red carpet, Beyoncé affirmed that “The Beehive is buzzing,” and that couldn’t be more true. With the news of her Grammy wins, her Cowboy Carter tour dates announcement, and making history, all over the course of a few days, fans are sure to be ecstatic.
