Ariana Grande stepped out in a stunning dress at the 2025 Golden Globes recently. Designed by Hubert Givenchy, the yellow gown was a perfect combination of simplistic elegance from the fine detailing down to the delicate gloves.
The 31-year-old’s attire was a brilliant mix inspired by her recent film Wicked, as well as her classic referencing to vintage fashion. There’s a lightness to the dress that gives a certain Glinda vibe but with a classic twist. The Wicked meets Audrey Hepburn dress was largely influenced by Grande’s style, drawn from the 1950s and 60s.
In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Grande stated, “I’ve always loved Old Hollywood glamour…Marilyn and Audrey have always been my references. I’ve always gravitated toward fifties and sixties silhouettes, and life retro and vintage. Even when I was fifteen I can’t think of a time when that wasn’t my vision board.”

We can see this modern-takes-vintage influence throughout her career, beginning as early as her rise in music. The signature vintage eyeliner Grande has become known for draws inspiration from the “60s doll-eye” makeup. Her choice of hairstyle and accessories reflect that era as well.

The flowy skirt and half-up-half-down paired beautifully with the silk heels. Not only did this make for a classy red carpet look, but it could also pass for vintage glamour as well!

As mentioned before, the Audrey Hepburn-inspired stylings are evident in the simplicity of this outfit. The design resembles shift dresses from the 60s, worn by many fashion icons of the time. There’s a hint of Hepburn’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s and War and Peace that create this timeless look.

From the light and classic makeup to the strappy-back, this gown surely gives vintage Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.
It’s no wonder that the Wicked star has been rumored to star in an Audrey Hepburn biopic given her iconic vintage style. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, but when asked about the role by Entertainment Tonight, she responded, “That would have to be done so well and so perfectly.”
There have also been rumors that Lily Collins has been suggested for the biopic alongside Grande. Regardless of whether these rumors are true or not, one thing is for sure: Ariana definitely channels effortless 50s and 60s that would make her the perfect muse for the role!
