A Crash Course For The New Sabrina Carpenter Fan

Sabrina Carpenter, singer of your current pop favorites “Please Please Please” and “Espresso,” has been breaking records this year. Many were introduced to her on the Eras Tour where she was the opening act for Taylor Swift. Due to the Eras Tour’s wild success, it is no surprise that after playing 26 shows Carpenter gained a lot more fans, propelling her to excel with her recent singles.

And while some new fans believe her upcoming album, Short n’ Sweet, to be her sophomore album, this is doing a great disservice to her wonderful discography. Believe it or not, the blonde pop star has been creating catchy tunes and beautiful ballads way before her last album emails i can’t send, though she did not have as large of a following. Short n’ Sweet will in fact be Carpenter’s sixth album — Miss Sabrina has been killing it for a while.

To get familiar with all things Sabrina, here are three songs off of each forgotten album you should listen to if you love her two current pop hits. Let’s all become certified fans of the iconic diva and rising pop star.

Sabrina’s Forgotten Music

Eyes Wide Open (2015)

This album definitely sounds a lot different than current Sabrina, but hey, it’s been about a decade since it came out. It has a lot of acoustic guitar and a sound that will remind you of your favorite Disney Channel original movie. She was a 15-year-old with a guitar and a dream.

Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying
We’ll Be The Stars
Your Love’s Like

EVOLution (2016)

In this album, you can definitely hear Sabrina begin to find her sound. The production is more complex and well thought through. Plus, with only a year between EVOLution and Eyes Wide Open, her vocals have elevated to new levels.

On Purpose
Feels Like Loneliness
Don’t Want It Back

Singular Act I

In Singular Act I, Sabrina starts playing around with more mature themes, creative production, and increasingly impressive vocals. Part 1 out of a 2-part album, this album definitely had her fans excitedly waiting the next part to drop.
