While fans anxiously await the upcoming release of Avengers: Doomsday, Endgame is heading back to theaters on September 25 under the new title Avengers Endgame: Encore. Screenings will include brand-new footage that “acts as a narrative bridge” to the events of Doomsday. It hasn’t been specified what exactly this new footage consists of or how much of it we’re actually getting.
In the 2019 film, Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark made the sacrifice play and died defeating the mad titan Thanos. In Avengers: Doomsday, Downey will play the iconic Fantastic Four villain, Doom. The Doomsday cast and creators have kept details about this decision very close to the chest.
Fans hope we’ll get a hint next month.
On Tuesday, Marvel dropped a brand new trailer for the re-release. Reliving the excitement fans felt witnessing the endgame in theaters for the first time seven years ago, the trailer includes audience reaction footage.
This encore presentation of the record-breaking superhero film will be shown on IMAX and Disney certified “Infinity-Vision” screens. Along with the trailer, a new poster and two Endgame-themed popcorn buckets have also been unveiled. One is shaped like Iron Man’s helmet and the other like the nano gauntlet used in the film’s fateful climax.

Some fans have questioned the re-release, wondering if it was necessary to pay to go see it again in theaters ahead of Doomsday. Some even wonder if it’s just a cash grab. Regardless, the hype is growing. What do you think, N’Crowd? Are you showing up for the Encore?
Tickets are on sale now.
