More observant fans have noticed Bieber sporting SKYLRK hoodies and apparel on his Instagram stories previously, but never brought attention to it. This left everyone who was interested a bit confused on what the clothing line was exactly, when it was coming out, and where they could purchase the items.
Within the past week, Bieber finally released a promo video officially claiming the SKYLRK brand. However, after fans watched the video more closely, the fashion line was the last thing people were talking about. The video seemingly hinted at Bieber burning personal bridges and closing doors on past relationships and friendships, while dropping little easter eggs throughout the video. The Song Choice
As soon as the promo video starts, we can hear Eddie Benjamin’s “MANIAC” playing in the video. Right off the bat, fans speculated that the lyrics were alluding to how he feels people have treated him over the years, especially the people he thought he could trust. With lyrics like, “You treat me like a maniac/How do you lose that love so fast/Cause I’m still stuck in the times we had/And you still treat me like a maniac.” This could be referring to his past girlfriend Gomez, unloyal fans, old talent managers, or the general public. Bieber has had his fair share of troubles that unfortunately were documented in the public eye, so this could be throwing a diss towards everyone who looked down on him while he was struggling publicly.
A Scooter with a Double Meaning
Following the video further, Bieber can be seen tossing aside a scooter on the ground and leaving it behind. Long-term Bieber fans instantly took this as Bieber dissing his old manager, Scooter Braun, and signaling his official goodbye to him and leaving their partnership in the past. The two haven’t been spotted together in over a year so this could be Bieber confirming that they are not on speaking terms anymore.
Drew House
Another hidden meaning that fans spotted was the appearance of “Drew House.” In 2019, Bieber created a previous clothing line called “Drew House” and worked with a creative director for the brand. Once you see Bieber walking into the “Drew House”, the video shows toxic signs and hazardous water. This could be alluding to a toxic working environment and why the clothing line didn’t go anywhere. Before Bieber leaves the house, he sets it on fire, which could be taken as things going down in flames, literally, with Drew House.
A New Beginning for Bieber
As the video comes to an end, Bieber leaves the burning house and starts walking towards a beautiful brand new one, but not without meeting up with Hailey Bieber and their son. Since getting married in 2018, some fans of Bieber have mocked their marriage and how they think Bieber treats Hailey behind the scenes.
Despite what some Beliebers think about Bieber’s true feelings for his wife, the ending message is clear enough – The duo share a heartfelt kiss and happily walk off as a family towards this new house without looking back. Cue the end credits…
