Congratulations are in order for the newly engaged couple, Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors.
Good (43) and Majors (35) announced the news while attending the EBONY Power 100 Gala at NYA Studios West in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 17. Good, wearing a long, shimmering gold evening gown, and Majors, sporting a metallic two-piece suit, gleamed excitedly as they spoke with reporters on the carpet. Good was photographed several times, joyfully showing off her sparkling ring.
“I’m happy and I’m thankful. I feel free, which is a beautiful feeling,” said Good during a backstage interview with Entertainment Tonight.
The happy couple shared with E! News that they chose to announce their engagement at the EBONY Power 100 Gala, where they first met two years ago.
“EBONY Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom,” the Waist Deep actress said.
The world got wind of Good and Major’s romance when they were spotted watching a movie together in Los Angeles in May 2023.
Both actors have experienced their fair share of personal trials over the past two years. Before the two had met, Good finalized her divorce with Pastor DeVon Franklin in 2022, after nine years of marriage. Majors, who were hardly ever noticed in public for their personal affairs, faced assault and harassment charges following an incident between him and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari back in March 2023 in New York City. The actor did not testify during the trial and denied all allegations against him. The Creed III actor was found guilty of misdemeanor assault and harassment in April 2024 and sentenced to one year of domestic violence counseling, with a requirement of probation and payment of a $250 fine.
Before the couple confirmed their relationship, Good was seen accompanying Majors at several trial hearings. Despite Majors’s public backlash since his trial, Good has fully supported her husband-to-be.
In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Good expressed that digesting the public’s perception of her and Majors’s relationship hasn’t been easy, but she supports him no matter the circumstances.
“He actually tried to encourage me not to be with him,” said Good. ” He wanted to protect me. So when we got together it was like, this is going to be a lot, but you got the right one.”
Again, congratulations to Meagan and Jonathan, the couple who truly embodies the old saying, “Love comes when you least expect it.”
