Windy City folks, it’s time to go out and explore Chicago’s summer attractions! Get some sun and explore the best of the city this season. Give a farmers market a try, or nibble on some seriously yummy treats at the Taste of Chicago. Add these Chi-based activities to your summer bucket list because you won’t want to miss them.
Farmers Markets

Chicago is a city filled with farmers’ markets during the summer season! Check out fresh produce, handmade goods, and local vendors at hundreds of markets across the city. If you’re in Lincoln Park, the Lincoln Park Farmers Market runs from April 26 to November 22 on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Located closer to the West Loop? Stop by the Green City Market, open Saturdays from May 3 to November 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you can’t make these two, don’t stress it! The City of Chicago provides a good variety of different market locations on other days of the week as well.
The Taste of Chicago

If you’re a big foodie, then the Taste of Chicago is something you can’t miss this summer. This annual outdoor food festival features Chicago’s diverse array of culinary bites, and get this: admission is free! Keep an eye out for Saturday, July 19, at Pullman Park and Saturday, August 9, at Albany Park for the festival.
Lincoln Park Zoo

Tour the Lincoln Park Zoo this summer and enjoy some of the cutest wildlife Chicago has to offer. If you’re visiting Chi later this summer, the zoo offers an adults-only 2000s Night at the Zoo. Lincoln Park Zoo has other special events on its summer calendar that you should definitely check out if you’re in the area!
Millennium Park Summer Film Series

Who doesn’t love a good outdoor film festival? The Millennium Park Summer Film Series will be playing blockbuster and award-winning movies from July 1 to August 26. All you have to do is kick back and relax! During Tuesday evenings this summer, set up camp in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Wicked, and many more fan favorites!
Chinatown Summer Fair

The Chinatown Summer Fair is not only one of the most iconic summer events in Chicago, but it’s also a beautiful celebration of Asian culture, art, food, and music. Located from Wentworth Avenue until 24th Place, the Chinatown Summer Fair will take place on Saturday, July 26 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, July 27th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The outdoor cultural festival will include a lion dance procession, kung fu demonstrations, samples of Chinatown’s food scene, and many more activities for family and friends!
