During Pride, streaming platforms typically take part in the creation of curated collections of Pride-themed films and TV shows, highlighting their content that celebrates queerness.

Last year, Netflix made headlines for their “Keep Doing the Most” campaign, in which they collaborated with pop icon Troye Sivan. They have yet to announce their plans for Pride 2024, but subscribers can still follow along Netflix’s frequently updated LGBTQ+ category. Featured stories include award-winning series Sex Education and 2022’s Heartstopper.

Hulu has already started to roll out their pride plans, announcing a new “Hulu has pride” campaign, featuring the UK’s first gay dating show I Kissed a Boy, new biographical drama Becoming Karl Lagerfeld and more. They will also be live streaming ABC’s LA Pride Parade, as well as ABC’s special Pride across America

Last year, Amazon Prime Video celebrated their pride with their “Endless Pride” collection, which featured LGBTQ+ stories, including RuPaul’s Drag Race, which has since moved to Peacock. The streaming service has been quiet so far on its 2024 plans, but viewers should look out for some new LGBTQ+ featured content.

Max also has been celebrated for their past pride celebrations, especially their 2023 “LGBTQ+ voices” campaign. The platform featured queer stories like Moonlight during their in-app pride month takeover, even changing their interface to the quintessential pride emblem: the rainbow. For 2024, audiences can expect Max to continue to celebrate, uplift and embrace queer stories, hopefully adding even more films and TV shows to their already expansive pride collection.

Every streaming platform celebrates pride in some way, showcasing its collection of queer stories and paying homage to the LGBTQ+ community. In June 2024, viewers can expect platforms to loudly and boldly embrace queerness, highlighting stories that spotlight queer perspectives and unabashedly celebrate their pride.
