It’s official! Lana Del Rey tied the knot on Sept. 26 with Jeremy Dufrene, an alligator tour guide from Louisiana. This comes almost one month after they made their relationship public.
Dufrene and Del Rey held the ceremony in Dufrene’s hometown, Des Allemandes, near the bayou where Dufrene holds his swamp boat tours. They obtained their marriage license a few days before their nuptials from a parish just south of New Orleans.
Photos and video footage from DailyMail show Del Rey arm in arm with her father, Robert Grant, walking down the aisle with an array of flowers in her hands and later with her now-husband, Dufrene. This is Del Rey’s first marriage and Dufrene’s second.
Del Rey has yet to respond to requests from comment from multiple outlets including DailyMail and The Independent.
Fans were in shock upon learning about their wedding and they didn’t hold back their surprise.
“Didn’t she meet this man yesterday? What the hell did I miss?” one X user said.
“This takes the cake for wild,” another commenter said on X. “It was like yesterday they were seen together! Happy for her but woahhh.”
The couple first met in 2019 when the “Born To Die” singer shared a Facebook post on one of Dufrene’s tours, captioned, “Jeremy lemme be captain at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours x”. It wasn’t until this past May that Del Rey and Dufrene reunited and were later spotted walking hand-in-hand at the Leeds Festival a few months after.
Suspicions arose that Del Rey may be being used for her money given the speed of their relationship but an insider quashed those rumors in their report to the Daily Mail.
“Her friends and team did some digging on him over fears he could be using her, but his business is lucrative and he doesn’t need or want Lana’s money,” the source said. “They can see he treats her right and he’s very, very low maintenance.”
Del Rey has had a history of dating men from humble beginnings in the past, including a filmmaker, a police officer, and lesser-known music artists such as Clayton Johnson and Jack Donoghue.
