A former America’s Next Top Model finalist has accused Kanye West of choking her and performing acts of “pornographic gagging” on the set of a La Roux music video shoot at Manhattan’s Chelsea Hotel in 2010.
The complaint, filed Nov. 22 in federal court in New York, reads that Plaintiff Jenn An was dressed in lingerie and working as an actor in La Roux’s “In For The Kill” video when West, also known as Ye, arrived on set for a cameo. The model says West pointed at her, saying, “Give me the Asian girl.” She alleges that West was “towering over” her and “breathing heavily” as he directed the camera to zoom in on her face.
“On camera, defendant West began to choke plaintiff with one hand. He then wrapped his other hand around her neck and continued to strangle her with both hands,” read court documents. “He then rammed several fingers down her throat, continuously moved them in and out, and gagged her.”
An says West screamed, “This is art. This is f**king art. I am like Picasso,” as the alleged assault occurred. The lawsuit claims An was assaulted “in a manner similar to pornographic gagging/deep throat BDSM fetishes.”
The model continues to say no one helped her as she “struggled to breathe and felt as if she had temporarily blacked out.” In the lawsuit, An also claims that after West finished with said act, her face was “covered in saliva and smeared makeup.”
The court documents further assert that Universal Music Group, who is named as a co-defendant in the lawsuit, organized West’s appearance in the video but later “failed to investigate” the alleged assault.
An is seeking compensatory and punitive damages following her sexual assault and strangulation accusations against West.
UMG, La Roux and representatives for West have not commented on the lawsuit.
An’s allegations aren’t the first claims of sexual assault to be pinned on the musician and fashion icon. Lauren Pisciotta, West’s former assistant, filed a lawsuit against the star June 2024, stating West sent her sexually explicit messages and masturbated in front of her. Pisciotta has since expanded her lawsuit by alleging West drugged and sexually assaulted her during a studio session co-hosted by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
