Reggaeton artist Bad Bunny concluded his residency, “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí,” last week at the Coliseo de José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan. He spent the night celebrating his love for Puerto Rico, his homeland, on a global stage—livestreamed on Amazon Prime, Amazon Music, and Twitch.

A Star-Studded Finale
His residency, dedicated to his album DeBí Tirar Más Fotos, was star-studded throughout. Celebrity appearances included LeBron James, Penelope Cruz, and DJ Khaled; with musical collabs from artists such as Rubén Blades. The final musical guest, however, was showstopping Marc Anthony. He performed “Preciosa,” a song that he hasn’t performed in 20 years.
The song, and really the whole residency, was dedicated to Bad Bunny and his audience’s love for Puerto Rico. The finale took place on the emotional eighth anniversary of Hurricane Maria, the devastating hurricane that hit the island. The Grammy-winning artist even partnered with Amazon to launch technology access and STEM education initiatives in Puerto Rico.
Bad Bunny is a record breaker, and this show was no exception. In the past, his “World’s Hottest Tour” made him one of the most successful acts of all time. The finale of his Puerto Rico residency continued this momentum by breaking Amazon Music viewership records’ across the board.
What’s Next for the U.S.?
Although the DeBí Triar Más Fotos tour is getting ready to kick off, fans from the United States were disappointed to see the country skipped altogether due to political issues and safety concerns. The reggaeton and latin scene is far from dead, however, and Bad Bunny fans can look forward to these acts near them:
Eladio Carrión
The Don KBRN World Tour brought Carrión’s similar reggaeton vibe throughout the United States, and is wrapping up in California now. The two artists have a large fanbase overlap, and that audience was happy to see the energy come through the United States still.

El Alfa el Jefe
El Ultimo Baile World Tour begins its U.S. tour in October. Audiences tune into an urban sound, trading Puerto Rican heat for Dominican flair. The vibes are similar, with a little variety to keep things exciting.
Kali Uchis
The Sincerely, Tour has California dates in the next month to wrap up. Although these artists’ styles aren’t similar, American fans of Latin music are also loving Uchis’ chill, girly sounds to contrast the heavier reggaeton.

Andrés Cepeda
The Nuestra Vida en Canciones tour will hit the U.S. at the end of October. The sound will lean more into the pop and ballad sphere, but American fans of Latin music and pride for one’s country will still enjoy.

Alleh & Yorghaki
La Ciudad World Tour will bring fresh urban sounds to the states this October. The artists are known for combining the young sounds with Venezuelan tradition. Bad Bunny fans will love to discover this fresh take on similar concepts.

While it’s reasonable the Bad Bunny had to exclude the U.S. from this tour, he will certainly be missed stateside. Hopefully fans can get their live Latin music fix, and the success of this residency and tour will continue.
