Spring Mocktails for Some Buzz-Free Fun

Daylight Saving Time just moved an hour forward, which means one hour less sleep, but longer, sunnier days are ahead!

Fruity mixed drinks are coming back for the warmer side of the year, but no fear! You don’t need alcohol in your libations to have a great day.

These drinks are an oasis from the heat, no matter where you’re located.

Materials Needed

  • Cocktail set (shaker, jigger, muddler, stoppers, etc.)
  • Blender
  • Pitcher
  • Ice

Non-Alcoholic Classics

Havana Twist Fauxjito

The Havana Twist Fauxjito is my own alcohol-free tart twist on the classic Mojito:

Serves two.

  • 3 tablespoons Simple syrup
  • 2 cups of sparkling water or tonic water
  • 6 Mint leaves
  • 8 Raspberries
  • 8 Blackberries
  • 4 tablespoons Lime juice

In a shaker, muddle 3 mint leaves, 4 raspberries and 4 blackberries together. Add 4 tablespoons of lime juice and 3 tablespoons simple syrup. Add Ice and 1 cup of sparking water or tonic water. Shake. Add mixture to glass. Add sparkling water or tonic water. Garnish with mint or berries.

Watermelon Agua Fresca Mocktail

Serves two.

  • 2 cups cubed watermelon
  • 1 cup water
  • Sweetener
    • ½ tablespoon Honey
    • ½ tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

Place watermelon, sweetener and 1 cup water into a blender and blend well. Test sweetness level, add more sweetener if needed. Strain liquid into pitcher. Add second cup of water. Pour into each glass, add lime juice. Stir. Garnish with mint, lime or watermelon.

Frozen Raspberry Margarita Mocktail

Serves two.

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • ¾ cup water or orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon Stevia or simple syrup
  • 1-2 drops vanilla extract (optional)
  • Sugar or salt for rim (optional)

Blend all ingredients together. Add more water for consistency preferences. Pour into glass. Garnish with lime.

Floral Sips

Lavendar Lemonade Refresher Mocktail

Serves two.

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 tablespoon dried lavender buds
    • OR 2-3 tablespoon lavender syrup
  • 2-3 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Garnishes: Lemon slices, lavender sprigs

If using dried lavender, steep in hot water for about 5 minutes to make lavender tea. Strain out buds and let it cool.

In a pitcher, combine fresh lemon juice, cold water, and lavender tea or syrup. Stir in honey or agave syrup for extra sweetness, if desired. Fill glass with ice cubes and pour the lavender lemonade mixture over the ice. Garnish with lemon slices and a sprig of fresh lavender.

Lychee Rose Mocktail

Serves two.

  • 2 Fresh or tinned lychees
  • 6 tablespoons Lychee juice
  • 1 teaspoon Extra Sweetener (Optional)
    • Maple syrup
    • Agave Nectar
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Rose Syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice
  • ½ cup chosen Mixer

Muddle lychees and sweetener together. Add lychee juice, rose syrup, lime juice and ice to shaker. Shake for 10-15 seconds. Fill glass with ice, strain mixture into glass.

Sparkling Hibiscus Sangria Mocktail

Serves six.

Muddle orange, berries, sweetener in a bowl or pitcher. Add non-alcoholic wine or juice and leave to infuse for about an hour. When serving, add ice and hibiscus tea. Stir. Garnish iced glasses with fruit or edible flowers.

Fizz & Spritz Central

Elderflower Spritz Mocktail

Serves two.

Add elderflower syrup, honey simple syrup, and fresh lime juice to your favorite glass. Serve in a coupe for an elegant baby shower presentation, or a wine glass for a classic spritz feel. Top with sparkling non-alcoholic white wine. Gently stir to combine. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge.

Honey Lemon Butterfly Fizz Mocktail

Serves Two.

Combine honey, lemon juice and ¼ cup soda water in tall glass. Stir until honey dissolves. Fill glass with crushed ice, top with more soda water, leaving room at top. Slowly pour sala syrup over crushed ice. Gently top with butterfly pea juice for soft color gradient. Garnish with lemon slices.

Pineapple Ginger Spritz Mocktail

Serves two.

  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda
  • Garnishes: Pineapple slices or lime wedges

In shaker or small bowl, combine pineapple juice, grated ginger, lime juice, and honey or agave syrup if desired. Stir or shake well to mix. Pour mixture over ice. Top with sparkling water or club soda for a bubbly finish. Garnish with pineapple slices or lime wedges.

Of course, these are just a handful of thousands of mocktails out there. Whether you’re looking for a twist on a classic, something floral or a nice glass of bubbles, you can still have fun without worrying about a hangover the next morning.
