Actress Debby Ryan and Drummer Josh Dun announced their pregnancy with their first child in a joint Instagram post on Sunday, September 8, 2025. The couple has been together since 2013 and married since their secret wedding in 2019. It’s an exciting time for the couple as fans anticipate a new album this week from Twenty One Pilots, Dun’s band with frontman Tyler Joseph.
Their Love Story
Ryan started her career as a Disney Channel teen. She gained popularity starring in The Suite Life on Deck, then in several movies of her own, as well as the lead role on the show Jessie. Since her Disney days, her most notable role was as the lead of the 2019 Netflix show Insatiable.
Dun got his start in music in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio, when the former drummer of Twenty One Pilots invited Dun to replace him. The two-man band signed a deal with Fueled by Ramen in 2012. The duo has since won many awards, including a Grammy for their 2014 song “Stressed Out”.
The couple met and began dating in 2013, when they were in their early 20s. They shocked the internet when they went Instagram-official in September of that year. Ryan implied that the couple had broken up on Twitter in 2015, but fans presumed them together again when they were photographed at a Christmas party the next year.

Leading up to their 2018 engagement, Ryan and Dun established themselves as couple goals in the public eye. In several different interviews, they both gushed over each other many times. They praised their relationship for being able to grow together while being truly happy and in love.
The couple got engaged in New Zealand, providing photos for fans on Instagram of their happy moment. Ryan captioned it with a long tribute to Dun, ending in “Dudes for life.” Dun also posted, sweetly including the same phrase.

While the couple posted pictures from their wedding night on New Year’s Eve of 2019, they didn’t confirm their marriage to Vogue until May 2020. Ryan said in the interview that the passing of her Jessie co-star Cameron Boyce pushed them to take the next step, as “we aren’t promised tomorrow.”
Since their wedding, Ryan and Dun have gifted the internet with an intimate glance into their relationship on Instagram. They’ve celebrated anniversaries, holidays, and career moves with a loving consideration for their fans.

Mixed Public Reactions
Their pregnancy is no exception. The late-term announcement offers a joyful glimpse into Ryan’s pregnancy and the couple’s growing family. Fans, especially those who have followed their careers from the beginning, were thrilled to see the news.
As always, however, some people don’t care. It’s a scary and tense time in the world, and cynicism has set in for many. People get pregnant and have babies every day. It’s sometimes hard to see the big deal when it comes to celebrities for some.
“debby ryan is pregnant!” comments are so annoying why is it in every comment section a celebrity pregnancy is not a big deal damn

Fans aren’t alone in being thrilled for the couple. Ryan and Dun have tastefully shared updates about their relationship over time. It’s exciting and worth celebrating to see them take the next step in starting a family.
