Last week, Caresha, also known as Yung Miami from the iconic rap duo City Girls, sat down with her best friend Saucy Santana on her podcast Caresha Please to clear the air about the rumors surrounding her life. Fans were expecting Caresha to be candid about the fallout of the City Girls and the sexual assault lawsuit allegations against her ex-boyfriend Diddy. But once the podcast episode was posted, some fans took to social media to express their disappointment in the interview. Fan reactions called out the lack of journalistic integrity, the delicate responses to the questions, and the complete avoidance of hot-topic issues that made the interview unsatisfying.
Journalistic Integrity
Some fans felt that the interview should not have been conducted by a close friend, while others thought Santana was the ideal interviewer. Due to the public dragging Caresha received when the Diddy lawsuit allegations became public, some fans think Santana was the best interviewer to hold a safe space for Caresha’s truth. However, others felt like the interview was a joke before it began because Santana would not engage in legitimate journalism. This leads to a bigger question about podcasters who have no journalistic background conducting interviews on serious topics.
This is gon be some bullshit. This ain’t no Robin Roberts / Dianne Sawyer interview. You want me to think Santana is going to hold Caresha accountable? https://t.co/xzg9vzXlbX

During the interview, Caresha revealed that Santana was a constant support system who got her through the public backlash she received after the lawsuit allegations about her ex-boyfriend Diddy came out. As a result, some fans felt like Santana already knew the answers to all the questions that were asked. The background information he already had on Caresha influenced his line of questioning as opposed to an interviewer with no prior knowledge who could be more objective. Additionally, his bias toward her prevented him from challenging her, as he did not want to hurt Caresha’s public image.
Delicate Responses
Fans expected that Caresha would directly answer the burning questions regarding Diddy and the feud between her former rap group member JT. Once the episode aired, fans felt that Caresha did not address anything new in the interview, but instead provided politically correct answers that did not answer the public’s inquiries. In response to the question about her dating experience with Diddy, Caresha explained that there were no cases of domestic violence in the relationship and that she could not speak to the prior experiences that led to the sexual allegations against him. Many fans were disappointed with the response and felt it was an easy way to diminish the severity of the allegations. Since Caresha was mentioned in a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy as being his sex worker and supplying him with pink cocaine, the expectation was that she would provide more detail regarding the sexual allegations — but this topic was only superficially addressed.
@muchiedu So were you selling pink coke orrrrrrrrr….? #greenscreen #caresha #jt #citygirls #santana #diddy #pdiddy

When it came to addressing the fallout with fellow City Girls member JT, fans felt that Caresha provided more detailed explanations regarding why the group fell apart that were not afforded to the questions about Diddy. This lead some fans to speculate that Caresha is still in contact with or signed an NDA for Diddy, which is why she painted him in a favorable light during the interview. Fans are also speculating that the ongoing sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy (that implicates her) limits what she can share with the public. As a result, some fans feel like this interview revealed a whole lot of nothing.
That Caresha Please shit is fake – we don’t want to hear about the city girls – btches outgrow each other and fall out everyday. We wanted to hear about Diddy. And she can’t say shit cause she under NDA and the case still on going 😂 she could’ve kept that interview

Avoiding Hot Topic Issues
The biggest disappointment for most fans was the clear lack of accountability regarding previous derogatory comments Caresha made about one of Diddy’s ex-girlfriends Gina Huynh during a social media argument. Since Gina is a survivor of domestic violence at the hands of Diddy, fans did not anticipate that Caresha would make insensitive comments insinuating that she could make Diddy force Gina to sexually satisfy her on a whim. As a result, some fans struggled to empathize with Caresha when she broke down crying during the interview about being in two abusive relationships before Diddy. For some, her lack of acknowledgment regarding her insensitive remarks toward a victim of her boyfriend at the time felt like a strategic choice.
If I wanted you to eat my pussy diddy would've had you on your knees hoe!!! You a eater!!!!!!!

Her name being referenced in the sexual assault lawsuit and the comments she made about Gina led some people to believe that Caresha was not an innocent bystander to Diddy’s actions. While some fans believe she should not be held accountable for the actions of a man, others feel speaking out against what Diddy did to his former victims is the bare minimum. Since she used the power of a man to demean another woman publicly, some fans are not willing to give her grace without acknowledging the impact of her actions.
For many viewers, the main takeaway from the interview was that celebrities should utilize credible interviewers when addressing important topics with the public. Some people did not take Caresha’s interview seriously, not only because her best friend conducted the interview, but also because Santana did not intentionally challenge her responses. Fans’ reactions to the podcast episode also prove that being misogynistic toward other women will often backfire. Regardless of her access to power at the time, spewing hateful remarks toward another woman is exactly what’s being weaponized against Caresha right now.
@tinabeean This isn’t a Caresha hate train, it’s disappointment that after all this time she still isn’t taking accountability for her role & standing with the victims…. Be as loud about denouncing what he did to those women as you were shouting “Go Papi” at every award show #careshaplease #diddy #JT #saucysantana
