Pop positivity is popping off. Over the last few weeks, pop music fans have been pleased to see cool collaborations and mutual love being shared between their favs.
One of the most notable examples is Chappell Roan. “Your favorite artist’s favorite artist” has been living up to the title. Reflecting on her recent astronomical rise to fame in a new TikTok, she went out of her way to note how welcoming the rest of the pop world has been to her. “It’s so sick to know that the girls have really — they’re really supporting each other in the pop industry,” Chappell said.
While Chappell didn’t name anyone in particular, she’s received public adoration from the likes of Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sabrina Carpenter, the latter of which released a cover of Chappell’s hit song “Good Luck Babe” earlier this month.

In another display of pop positivity, Charli XCX and Lorde “worked it out on the remix,” squashing a long-standing beef when Lorde added her extremely personal verse to “girl, so confusing.” The two pop stars hash out the jealousy that had festered between them over the last decade and how they misunderstood each other. They both end the track promising to have each other’s back in an emotionally cathartic pop banger that broke the internet, just like the lyrics of the song predicted.

Taylor Swift has also used her surprise songs from The Eras Tour as a way to feature some of her closest musical friends. Last weekend in London, Taylor played “Castles Crumbling”, a Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) track along with the song featured artist, Hayley Williams. Lead singer of the legendary band Paramore. Hayley and the rest of Paramore has been accompanying and opening for Taylor through the European Eras tour leg so far. Taylor also performed “us” with Gracie Abrams, a track from Abrams’ new album The Secret of Us, which Taylor is featured on.
Of course, no one can talk about “pop girl summer” without mentioning the rapper who coined “hot girl summer” in the first place. Megan Thee Stallion has been very public with her love for GloRilla, who is opening for her Hot Girl Summer Tour. The two have been posting countless videos together along with musically collaborating on “Wanna Be,” which later had a remix featuring Cardi B.
